Pick up my new blinkie for your blog
One of my crafting heroes is Regina Easter - she was the very first person to think my cards weren't bad, and ask me to join her design team (on Bitten by the Bug). I was so flattered, and I can't tell you how long I took to make my first challenge card. I was really nervous to be in such illustrious company. She eventually started her own business with downloadable printables (and you should just see what that girl does with them). I was with her for the start of the Cutting Cafe, but eventually, various stuff kept me so busy I drifted away, but am still an avid reader of her blog, so this week when I saw that the Cutting Cafe have started a challenge blog, I just had to join in.
The theme is
Case It
and of course, I forgot to copy the card to put on here, so you will just have to pop over there to see for yourself...........
I was in a blue and brown sort of mood, so this is what I came up with. Gemstone cardstock by core-dinations, lots of distress inking, and a favourite stamp from Penny Black. I stamped it once with rich cocoa Memento ink onto the white label, then stamped it again onto a page of an old book, and after inking the flowers, cut them out and stuck them on with just a touch of silicone glue to give a little lift. I punched two borders, both by EK Success and layered the blue one on top of the bigger white one
Thank you all so very much for all the lovely comments about the new look Going Buggy - not only did I love the feedback, but it was very encouraging and pleasing for Sarah to have such a big hurrah for her work as well. On that note, those of you who like blinkies for their sidebar, well I have one for you - just copy the code in the box below the blinkie and paste it into your own sidebar. The photo galleries have taken me most of the weekend, as I am such a computer dummy, I managed to spend three hours uploading, only to find they were the size of postage stamps. How did that happen? No idea, but another three hours later, it's fixed.
All the old labels are still on the sidebar, so if you find a Cricut card you like in the gallery, and want more details, I have labelled them all with the cartridge. Come back here and look under Labels for all the cards made with that cartridge.
So all this has kept me rather busy this weekend, but I did escape to Michaels to pick up a couple of things I needed.I was rummaging in the dollar bins next to a man sitting patiently on a chair, all by himself. He suddenly gave a big sigh and said out loud to nobody in particular
'I'm not sure, but I think I may have died and gone to hell'
Very nice card today, Enfys!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blinkie, I hopped right on that and already added it to my blog. Very cute!

BWAHHHH HA HA HA HA HA!!!! Sorry... The card is gorgeous! The last line of the post.... BWAHHH HA HA HA HA!!! As long as I have coupons, Michaels is like heaven, as long as I have coupons and they have a good sale. The only time it's hellish is when I have to go get something right now and I have no coupons and nothing is on sale. Hee! Hee! I really love how you did the flowers with the type font work. It's so clean, but still so elegant! Love it!

ReplyDeleteThank you for you kind comments.

I like blue cards and this one fits the bill. So quiet and elegant. That man's sentiment sounded like my husband when it comes to shopping.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh...that is the FUNNIEST thing EVER!
ReplyDeleteMen are hilarious...older men, even funnier! I almost can't get past that to comment on the card...LOLOLOL!
First off, I loved what you said about Regina and what I love is remembering YOU from those days as well! I will always have the BEST memories of meeting great friends on the Cricut MB, years ago. Still loving those friends now! =) Its also so fun to see those friends with such successful blogs now (like yours! =)
Loved your project very much! Super pretty colors and design! Hugs, Leah
Love the new look, Enfys. Sounds like something my son would say, though he'd love to find a chair at Michael's ;- )
ReplyDeleteI too have missed Regina she is so talented. Love the clean look of the card with a favorite color combination of mine. You repeatedly mention silicone glue. I have searched all over and can't find any glue marked silicone. What is the brand and is it available here? Love, Joan
ReplyDeleteVery cute card! That poor man sitting all alone. Don't we all know someone who would say something like that? My husband just keeps repeating, "Are you done yet? Are you done yet?" After so much of that, I start to think I may have died and gone to hell, too. LOL Actually, my husband's a sweetie and pretty darn tolerant of all my crafting.
ReplyDeletePoor man! He needs a hobby! lol
ReplyDeleteLove the card as always! TFS Hugs
Excellent fix on your photobucket! THANK YOU!!!! I love seeing all of your creations BIG and then extra BIG when I double click onto each one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Enfys.

Hi Enfys, that is such a lovely card. Your blog looks absolutely wonderful, it was definitely worth every minute you spent on it. Hugs, Frea
ReplyDeleteHi Enfys! What a sweetheart you are! We do love our Regina, don't we? Your card is gorgeous! I really love the new look of your blog, its very pretty! Thanks for playing along with CASE It Tuesday at The Cafe. :)
ReplyDeleteCute card! Some Michael's do have chairs or benches here in California, too. Smart though, as they put them by the Exit doors, so the wives can pick up their honeys on the way out. Mine, he either drops me off and lets me mosey on my own, waits in the car (less patience here) or comes in when "we're in a hurry" to keep me focused (in Michael's???)
ReplyDeleteAgain, love the new look! And, cute card.
Blessings, Donna

Enfys I love your new look. I have been in and out on little mini vacations. I have missed so much.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that wasn't my husband in the store? LOL
Your card is beautiful. Very calming for fall. I like that you used pages from an up-cycled book for the flowers. Well done.
ReplyDelete(I also linked at Cutting Cafe, entry #5.)
I love that card. The story of the man is probably one that plays out in front of Michael's all over the US!
