Hippity Hoppity Easter Card

This is made with the Animal Kingdom cartridge, one of my favourites. If anyone is thinking about this one - get it, it's so versatile. The saying was cut using the sound feature at 2", and the bunnies were cut using the border feature at 3". I stuck primas on for their tails, doodling (of course, it's my new passion!).

Recycled Magazines Card

The midweek challenge over on DCM is to make a card with 2 buttons, ribbon and some flowers. Funnily enough, the first recycled card I made for the weekend challenge fits the bill. The circles are cut from an old magazine and run through the cuttlebug, added lots of doodling, buttons, ribbon and a bit of bling......................

Udderly Wonderful Day

Over on Papertake Weekly, the challenge was to make a card using blue and green. I came up with this, the sentiment is computer generated, colouring done with stampin up watercolour pencils, stamp is called Ms. Fastidious by Penny Black.

BBTB Easter Egg Card

The challenge for the design team on BBTB this week was to make a project using the corners from Jasmine, in yellow. I was stumped on this one for a while, then my niece Ffion, who is also a cardmaker said 'why not make an easter egg tree' - good idea Ffion, so this is what I came up with. The tree was cut from happily ever after at 5", the eggs were cut from last years DCWV spring stack, and the stamp was from hobbycraft. Lots of doodling and stickles, there you go.........

Yummy Mummy - Mothers Day Card

The challenge this week over on cmutd was to make a Mother's Day card. Sadly, I no longer have my mum to make a card for, so I am making two of these cards for my daughters- in- law, to thank them for being such lovely mummies to my precious grandchildren. I am so lucky in the girls my boys married, they are both really lovely and involve me such a lot in the childrens lives. So this is my way of saying how much I appreciate that.

The stamp is from the Haute Couture set by Stampin Up. Just stamped it in black versamark then clear embossed it, coloured the lips with a tombow marker, the feather was from a cheap feather boa I found in poundland.

Thinking of You - recycled plastic

This weeks dare on http://daringcardmakers.blogger.com/ was to use recycled plastic. Well, that's what they said..........I saw the word 'recycled' and immediately an idea popped into my head and I dashed off to make it. When I was uploading it, I read the dare again more carefully, not a bit of plastic on my original creation. That just sums me up, the words bull and gate jump to mind.

Anyway, this is my second try - I used the plastic protector that covers the cricut mats. Cut half the front of the card away and attached this fabulous lacy mat by KI memories to it. Two more flowers on the front, and I was done - for the second time! The stamp is by stampin up.

Easter Card

Over on Papertake Weekly, the challenge this week was for a card with a spring theme. These Easter bunnies are by Great Impressions, I embossed them in black and coloured in with tombow markers. The paper is from my craft supply - haven't a clue who made it now, and the flowers are by prima. I love doing springlike cards at this time of year, it's such a change to use fresh colours after all the rich colours of winter and Christmas.

I entered my 'Feeling Ruff' card on a new challenge blog called CMUtd - Cardmakers United, and I've won some goodies! I'll let you know what I get.........

The Three of Us - Layout

This is a double page layout of Edward, Lidia and Max. I used paper from Nana's Kids as a background, the '3' is cut from George, the other glittery green letters are from a pack I picked up in the dollar bins in Target. On the first page, I put vellum over one of the cropped photos, and cut a circle out over Max's face. I used flowers, as I reckon this may be the last layout that I can use flowers on for this little chap - he is growing so fast and will not thank me for 'pretty' pages. This layout fits in with a challenge over on ArtyGirlz, where the brief was to use green.

All Occasion Card

Another one for the Daring Cardmakers - a midweek challenge to use yellow or orange on a card. Well, this one sure is Yellow! I used a paper from Dovecraft that I got at Lakeland, it was black, white and taupe, so I coloured in the
white lines with a yellow tombow marker, cut out two of the blossoms from another sheet and decoupaged them, matted it in taupe and yellow. The photo corner with doodling - thanks to Jo Kill - is cut from Jasmine at 4" real dial size. Added gold stickles to the flowers.
By the way, we had a super weekend with our friends up in Yorkshire. On friday we went to Whitby and had fish and chips at the Magpie, which is supposed to have the best fish and chips in the world - it was certainly yummy. I found a really nice little craft shop tucked away and spent a happy hour browsing around there. I love weekends away, you feel as if you have had a mini holiday.

Friendship Card

This week's challenge over on Daring Cardmakers is to make a special love/friendship card, preferably using Stampin Up images. Stampin up has long been huge in the US, and has just been introduced over here in the UK. The dress is from one of my favourite sets, Haute Couture, and was stamped on patterned paper from Lakeland. The saying 'Our Friendship is a perfect fit' is from a retired set. The zig-zags were cut from Plantin at 1", and the coat hanger was cut from New Arrival at 1 1/2". I added quite a lot of doodling dots and dashes to this one.

Feeling Ruff?

So I found another challenge over on cmutd - address in my favourites list. This time it is to make a card in three colours or less - hmmm, surprisingly difficult. This sad little pup was stamped in adirondack ginger and clear embossed, then coloured with prismacolour and gamsol. The scallops were cut with mini monograms, and the bone is an icon from Mickey and friends. I so love this little dog.

We are off to Yorkshire tomorrow for a few days, we lived there for a while many years ago, and have always kept in touch with our friends. I love it there, the village is so peaceful, - a million miles away from the busy urban sprawl of the town we live in now. We will probably go to York one day, which must be one of my favourite English cities, centuries old narrow streets and a Minster (cathedral) which must be one of the finest in the world. Anyone know of any great craft shops in that part of the world? I'll check on my friends computer in case any of you come up with something that's too good to miss. Thanks.

Whoo's Thinking of You?

I needed to make two cards today for online friends who are ill, so I made this in two different colourways. Cut the little owl from Happily Ever After at 4", with the top layer in stripes, which ties in nicely with this week's challenge over on Papertake. The papers are by scenic route and heidi swapp, flowers prima, sentiment handwritten.

Max Bedtime Story Layout

I have these really sweet photos of my son Edward and his wife Lidia reading a bedtime story to Max. He seems very interested in Millie Moo, so I cut the cow out of Animal Kingdom at 4", and the sound MOO at 3". I computer generated the words around the main picture. I wanted this layout to be bright and zingy, and I think it's achieved that, they will be pleased with it - I hope!

Let's Get Together

I wanted to send a card to an old friend I haven't seen for ages,
to suggest meeting up for a coffee and lunch - another New Year resolution, to try and keep up with friends more. I came up with this, the mug is cut from Joys of the Season at 3 1/2", the 'let's get together' stamp is a dollar bin find from the US and the paper I used was HOTP. I thought the tiny flowers looked just like a china mug, so I put loads of diamond glaze over it, and I am quite pleased with the way it looks, just like the real thing! The only trouble is, it's so shiny it was difficult to photograph. All the cardstock is Bazzill.

Daisy Mouse - It's your Day

Phew! I've been without a computer for almost a week, and it's frightening how lost I have felt without it.Incredible that an inanimate object can become so much a part of your daily life - I probably need to get out more! Anyway, this weeks Daring Cardmaker challenge was to use a sketch, (which I have been unable to upload onto here, take a look at the site, fantastic cards on here - daringcardmakers.blogspot.com)This is my take on the challenge. Papers are by deja vu, sentiment stamp is by studio g, and the little mouseis daisy mouse by funstamps.

Lilac Hedgehog card

There is a contest going on over at Slumbercards - site address in my favourites list = with some great stamps up for grabs. The card has to be lilac, so here's my cute little Penny Black hedgehog chasing some lilac butterflies. The cardstock is DCWV, the white strip was run through the cuttlebug, and the edge of the lilac oval was distressed with a nail file.
This happy card is perfect for today, after days of grey and rain, today is just beautiful, cold of course, but clear blue skies and sunshine. I have loads of stuff to do, I need to come up with a 90th birthday card before tomorrow morning among other things, but I am just going to let it all go for a couple of hours and go for a walk. I am a bit sick of hearts and red stuff now - who is this St Valentine, and why does he make us all buy cards?! I noticed when I was in the stores yesterday that the great red roses rip-off had started. It seems that if anything is red and has a heart on it, the price mysteriously trebles for a few days in February.

If I Only Had Wings Card

This is for a challenge over on Papertakeweekly.
The challenge was to use flowers on a card. I stamped
a hero arts stamp in brilliance ink - cosmic copper - for a
background, then cut a butterfly at 3 1/2" from Walk in My Garden, in dark brown, stamped that all over in cosmic copper as well. I had a huge Heidi Swapp paper flower that I've never known what to do with, so I cut off two of the petals and turned them into butterfly wings. The saying is by Great Impressions. Added some primas to the stamped background.

BBTB Shape 'Love' Card

The designer challenge
over on the BBTB site
this week was to make
a shaped card, using the
New Arrival cartridge.
I chose the heart cut
simply because it has
that handy little hook
thing at the top, which was perfect for holding the two halves of the card together.
The papers are from DCWV all dressed up stack - love this
paper, the flowers were cut from another sheet, and the stamp is a $1 find. Doodling done with a black sakura
gelly roll pen.

Wedding Card

Not much crafting this weekend either, as my little 8 month old grandson has been here to stay, he was so good, it was the first night he had ever spent away from his mummy, and I had no trouble at all.

Last week I had a call from a customer wanting some wedding cards urgently, and would you believe that out of my dozens (hundreds??) of stamps, I don't have any wedding specific ones. Not a champagne glass or cute bride and groom to be seen, so I turned to my trusty cricut and designed a few.

This one is a take on an explosion box I did for a DT challenge over on Regina's site, cut the & in cardstock at 4" from george, then again in red rose paper from HOTP. The 'mr' and 'mrs' are heidi rub ons from MM. The hearts were in my craft supplies.

Red and White Love Card

This is for this week's Daring Cardmaker challenge, where the brief was to make a card totally in just red and white. The lacy border down the side is cut from a fabulous 12 x 12 lacy sheet by KI, the 'love' rub on is by MM, the heart is cut from George, the red one has been run through the cuttlebug 'hearts' folder, although it doesn't show up very well.
All these Valentine cards - luckily I have a customer for them, otherwise my dear unromantic husband would be quite overwhelmed on February 14th! He would have to make an early morning dash to the garage to get a card or two, otherwise there would be a serious lack of brownie points.

Valentines Card

This is a card I did for a challengy over on Bety's blog - check it out, her work is fantastic. Her address is in my list of favourite sites to visit - Beatriz Jennings. She asked for a card with EVERYTHING on it, buttons, ribbon, bling, chipboard, flowers and a heart. I have left my huge stash of primas in the USA, otherwise the flowers would have been black I think.

Bear with Basket Card

It was such a miserable day yesterday here in the UK - howling wind, lashing rain and grey, grey, grey. So I felt like cheering myself up and making something springlike and happy. This is what I came up with. The little bear was made with a circle from George, cut at 2". His ears and paws are small punched circles. The eyes are black adhesive dots, I should put a dot of white on them but I can't find my white pen in the chaos that is my workspace. I cut the basket from Joys of the Season - 2 french hens cut, and filled it with primas. The little tag is a studio g clear stamp. I must say my little bear looks sweet, but sad, does anyone know how you can give them a happy face? All the paper is basic grey.
