It's my turn to post over on the Craftwork Cards blog today, I decided to make as many cards as I could on one sunny day this week, using the new jam jar shaped cards, and I had such fun doing them, here are a couple for you to see, you can see the others HERE - I would love it if you could go over and see the others, and leave a comment if you have time
and here is a jar full of hugs! I cut a cross on the front of the card with a craft knife, then I was able to cut away the front, which I backed with acetate.....
I tried to make the hearts look as if they were tumbling about inside the jar, and piled them up a bit at the bottom. I added some sequins for sparkle...
I will post some more jam jar cards over the next couple of days, as I know some of you can't click on links from your phones
Sitting having my coffee today in the sunshine, two young women came and sat at the next table. I did my famous 'hide behind the sunglasses and pretend to be looking somewhere else' while I shamelessly eavesdropped on their conversation. They were laden with shopping bags and started pulling out their stuff to examine it. Apparently they had got a lot of bargains in the July sales, including the bikini top that one of them had snapped up for a pound, a bargain because the bikini was missing the bottom half apparently. I was a bit bemused, I mean, I can understand some young thing snapping up a stray bikini bottom, all ready for those European topless beaches. But no bottom? The mind boggles. Perhaps there is a new European fashion that I haven't discovered - 'cover up ze top s'il vous plait mademoiselle, no, don't worry about ze derriere'.... If it is a new fashion, which I doubt, I think I will give it a miss, there is enough anguish in the world without me adding to it...
See you tomorrow x
lol at the bikini top!
ReplyDeleteI checked out the rest of the jar cards - they are all great.
I love the jar cards. The one with the hearts is my fave!
ReplyDeleteI know some young girls wear the bikini tops with their really short shorts. I've seen it quite a bit!
Very cute jar cards!
ReplyDeleteDarling jar shaped cards! What a fun idea! Fun for all the holiday images too. I'll have a look at the others, but your paper pieced peaches are really cute, and hearts are always great!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pam - the bikini tops will be worn with very short shorts. Especially if the person is overweight and doing the supermarket shop - trust me, I've seen that look near the chiller cabinets and it's not a good one!
ReplyDeleteLove those jam jars :)
Hugs, Di xx
Gosh you have been busy with all those cards - they are super.
ReplyDeleteHad to giggle about the bikini top.

ReplyDeleteThank you Enfys for giving me my daily giggle :D and I think Di must shop in the same supermarket as me. My DH and I frequently look at each other and mutter 'another one who got dressed in the dark this morning'

These are all just precious. I always forget to use acetate on cards. It just seems to make them come alive. I like the little buttons you used.
ReplyDeleteLoved all those jam jar cards. Thought the honey one was extra cute. You sure made me laugh with the bottomless story!
ReplyDeleteDarling cards!
