Happy Sunday morning everyone. I had a bit of a puzzle going on here over the weekend - I felt like taking part in a challenge, which I haven't done for yonks, and hopped over to two of my favourite challenge sites, Penny Black and Daring Cardmakers. They were both looking for Easter cards (with the Penny Black challenge you have to use a PB stamp of course). Not a problem I thought, as I started wading through drawers and drawers full of stamps. Was there an Easter bunny to be found? No, not one, nada, zilch...
Of course, once I get an idea into my head, I get determined to carry it through, so I fished out my favourite PB flower stamp, slapped some paper onto a cricut mat, and here is what I came up with.
Yes, I know that the colours aren't typical, the flowers aren't daffodils or lilies, but I am defiant, I really like the look of this one.......
The base card is by Craftwork Cards, border punch by Martha Stewart, and lettering by Making Memories. The egg shape was cut from Create a Critter on blackout, at 4", then cuttlebugged with the d'vine swirls folder. I stamped the flowers onto the egg, then again onto white cardstock and cut out the flower heads after colouring, which I stuck on with silicone glue to lift them I will be drawing a name by random.org later today for the Graduation cartridge, and will announce the winner in Monday's post
Lessons I learnt yesterday
1. Never use black ink when you are wearing a white top
2. If you lose a card element, be sure to check your backside, you are probably sitting on it
3. Microwave dinners do not look anything like the packaging
4. Microwave dinners do not taste like any recognisable food
5. If you think you are going blind suddenly, try cleaning your glasses
Yes, it was one of those days....... See you tomorrow
Love your card! It's too easy to rely on the same things every year, nice to see something a little different. And don't we all have days like that? Good thing we can laugh at ourselves!

Oh Dear Enfys I know exactly what you are saying, and yes microwave dinners taste like cardboard, and we had raw sprouts at Tescos in Cardiff last week, they were horrible.
ReplyDeleteLove your card though its simple but gorgeous. with hugs Shirleyxxx
And yet my mother insists on TV dinners for lunch every day! Love the card En, and who says it has to be like ever other easter card out there?

ReplyDeleteI have those kind of days too. I always lose something even when I put it in a certain spot that I know I can find it in. Love the egg card. The embossing makes it just beautiful. I love the flowers. Who says they have to be daffodils or lilys? I may just have to try the egg for my grandson's treat bags for school.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your card!! I really like the atypical style of it! Thanks for sharing!

You can't go to Monday yet. I'm just reading Sunday's e-mails ;- ) I liked your list of lessons. I'm still trying to learn that I should wear an apron, because everything I get on my hands somehow gets wiped on my pants. Not sure how that happens. Very creative way to get in a challenge I might add. You are always creative.
ReplyDeleteYes, yesterday was strange as I tried to put the coffee jar into the fridge instead of the milk and my partner put his grapes into the cupboard instead of the fridge. I caught my stirrer by accident and the tea splattered all over the clean table whilst we were having a drink after giving blood. We ate later and I dropped half of my fish on the floor. When I watered the garden I managed to soak my cat as I didn't realise he was there. I even put some of our shopping into someone else's basket. Oh and when I went to bed I ended up rolling too far and ended up on the floor!
ReplyDeleteI love everything on this card! Enfys, you've done fantastic job! :0)
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing along with Daring Cardmakers Spring Fling challenge.

Hee hee! Great life lessons! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous card - very classy! Thanks for joining in with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge!
Love Beth xx
The card is stunning Enfys. I am guilty of sitting on it and the dirty glasses so fits me. Although I am usually sitting on my glasses. Reason why I buy my reading glasses at dollar treasure, lol.
