I used an embossing folder for the background, the left hand of the card on the photo looks odd, it must be the camera angle, it was okay in real life, but I have already given the card to a friend, so too late to take another photo now.....
By the way, my new stamp storage system is so efficient, that I went to pull out this stamp so that I could give you the name, and I can't find it anywhere. It should be filed under flowers.......but it isn't.....in fact, it is nowhere to be seen among any of my carefully labelled and indexed stamps, so on reflection, this doesn't bode well for my new system.
The weather is still bitterly cold and it was the worst of all worlds here yesterday - cold, grey and raining! Time to cozy up and do some serious crafting, I feel another video coming..........
See you tomorrow x
Ahhh Yessss, I do remember the Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol blending technique. I have a set of them as well (although I believe that my set is only 48 colors). I never really did get the hang of coloring them properly ... my blending was always such a HOT MESS. A 2nd grader could do a far better job than I ever did. Your coloring, even without the Gamsol blending, looks lovely. You are skilled at putting color to paper ... whether it's markers, pencils, paints or inks, you seem to have mastered them all. This is such a pretty card, the blue flowers are very eye-appealing. I am sure your new filing system for your stamps is excellent. I'm sure your missing stamp is not lost. It's likely just off visiting the birds and the bees for a lovely little chat and a cup of tea, and will be back in it's rightful place before you know it. (*wink*)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carol, you are really gifted when it comes to coloring regardless of the medium. Your shading and highlights are always spot on! I had always wanted to try the Gamsol and it was still on my list of things to try. Now I'm not certain I want to try that, it sounds like it is not all its cracked up to be.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful and the person receiving it will love it! Thank you for sharing and I'm looking forward to your next video!
Your flower is so pretty, and I think you did a wonderful job of coloring. I just started to use pencils (I use Spectrum Noir), and so far, I have been happy with the results. The odorless mineral spirits just soften the pencil lines. I'm not as practiced at blending as you are, though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coloring!!! I love the blue flowers. I am sure your stamp will show up when you least expect it.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure my comments are poisting as I type them. I wanted to say thank you for the card candi. I am anxious to use them They will come in handy real soon. Love the card you made , it is beautiful. Thanks again for selecting me as a winner.

Beautiful card, Enfys. Your colouring is superb! Although I'm getting a little better, if I manage to keep it within the lines I'm happy :-) I love the flower on the embossed white card - simple but yet so very elegant! I'm sure you'll find your stamp again, probably when you're looking for animals or some other category :-) I'm so glad I'm not the only one that this happens to :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, stay warm, enjoy your crafting and yes, do bring on another video! :-)
Hugs,

Perhaps the stamp is lurking under your desk Enfys, hope you find it soon. Love your card, the flower is coloured perfectly. I have the Prismacolour pencils and use them all the time, I prefer them to promarkers. Pat x PS Have a great weekend everyone
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card. I am in the process of looking at unmounting all my wood block stamps. Haven't found the right material yet though to make them into cling stamps. What did you use and how do you have them stored? I guess I don't know how you got them to stay in place in the folders.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration to decluttered.
I use colored pencils and Gamsol a lot. Love it! Can't imagine what kind of a mess you'd end up using them. This card is gorgeous, guess you didn't need that Gamsol at all, did you. TFS!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys - I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Love the colouring,beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Enfys and the colour is so vibrant! x
ReplyDeleteLol, no gamsol for me... I wanted to try it, but couldn't justify the expense. Of new pencils and the gamsol too. ;-) love the flowers, pretty coloring. TFS, hugs, Jess
ReplyDeleteLove the colours. Filing system failure quite funny. Teething problems with a new system are common. Hope the flower finds it's way back soon. Hugz
