What a drama....

Well, it's been a bit dramatic here over the past few days -  both our ancient desktop computer, and the almost as ancient laptop decided to take a well earned retirement on the same day. Gosh, how we depend on these machines! So it's been an action packed couple of days, luckily I have an iPad so was able to do the usual Google research etc, but iPad's and Blogger aren't the best of friends, so here I am, finding my way around a brand new computer. I haven't a clue how to upload photos and edit them yet, but I did upload a quick video to YouTube before the big crash.......and believe me, making this wasn't without a bit of drama either. I filmed it first upside down, then filmed it again, and when I edited the video I had managed to film a totally immobile scrap of card stock on my desk, all the action was well and truly out of shot! Third time lucky.....

You may well have seen this tip before, but I find it so fantastic I thought I would share it for those who haven't come across it. Watch it below, or go HERE to watch it on YouTube

I have about finished making samples now, so hopefully I will be back tomorrow if I ever learn how to upload pictures....see you then x

  2. Never seen this before Enfys - dryer sheets are going on my shopping list. I can't believe how simple this makes die cutting & running it through a machine is so much quicker than poking out all those fiddly little bits. Great tip, thank you so much. Hope your new computer is soon running as smoothly as the old one was before it gave up the ghost. Pat xx

  4. Dryer sheets ... Seriously? Now how crazy is that? And here I thought I knew all there was to know about die cutting and embossing. I've tried the wax paper technique (it's ok, but not great), tried tapping the dies against something hard or flicking it with my finger (ouch, not the best choice), and I even have one the Spellbinders' Tool 'n One gadgets, which actually works great, plus it has little attachments to do other things as well. But this dryer sheet technique is a new one on me and I love it! I have an ample supply of dryer sheets on hand, so I will definitely be trying these. The added bonus is that all your removable bits stay in one place ... PLUS they smell nice too!

Sorry about your recent computer problems. I can totally relate. I love my computers and need my computers, and don't want to be without them. Unfortunately, I do not believe they share the same affection for me. In the past few years I have had to replace way too many. Even now, my main computer has caught a cold, or virus, or some other wretched disease. I believe it may be terminal, with damage to programs and files so deep that repairs will exceed the cost of purchasing a new one ... and this machine is only 18 months old. Unfortunately, I was not born on "money mountain" and sadly, the dollar store does not sell quality $1 computers. This may explain part of the reason why I have a love/hate relationship with my computers .... and all my electronic gadgets as well!

  6. Thanks for sharing this - I have never heard of it and I must admit I have some dies that I rarely use because I always end up tearing or bending the card/paper trying to get all the fiddly bits out. Will definitely try this tip

  7. I watched your dryer sheet video and am sitting here with my mouth hanging open! I can't believe all the time I've wasted picking the paper out of dies when this method was available. Thank you for sharing it, I'll think ever so kindly of you each time I use a die from this moment on.

  8. Isn't that the most fascinating thing you've seen in the crafting world. Who would have ever thought you could do your laundry and make a card with the same product.
