Then there is the ribbon. I hardly ever use ribbon, I could put pretty bows on the hair of every little girl in the UK and still have enough left over for a maypole or two..... Of course, a lot of these unopened packs have red sale stickers on them, that's why I bought them, I never could resist a bargain. Some bargain when they have been renting space in my room for five years without any payback...
So, the die is cast. I have contacted a friend who works in a school so a forest worth of papers and ribbons and stuff will be going there. The ruthless pruning means that there is four large sacks of rubbish already, but the good news is that I have SPACE. Room to move, room to breathe, room to create. I was getting twitchy about not posting anything on here, but you know what? I am taking the rest of this week to get myself in control again, everything is going to be so perfectly ordered you won't believe it - neither will I until it happens!
And the really good news is that I have unearthed a few things that are duplicates or were meant to be given away as blog candy, so watch this space, until then, just pass me another black sack and I'll be on my way......... x
I hope your head cold works its way out of your system soon. Continued good luck with all that sorting and organizing. I'm impressed with your progress and steady will and sending your unused supplies to a place that will really appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteThose will be some happy school crafters. I'm impressed by such a bold clear out, but it sounds like it was well worth it. I hope your head cold is gone soon so you can really enjoy all that space. : )
ReplyDeleteI have flu, so having to rest a lot now. Voice is almost gone too. Hope you're feeling better soon. I'll send your thank you card for my lovely prize when I have a chance to make and post it
ReplyDeleteI hope you will feel better soon, take some rest!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon Enfy and it is surprising what you find when you have a sort out

I am so sorry you are not feeling well Enfys. BRAVO to you for doing a bit of cleaning in your craft space. I need to do that so badly! Like you, I a have amassed a rediculous amount of crafty stuff ... much of which I haven't even used. I am so weak when it comes to pretty papers, ribbons, bling, embellishments ... and all the latest and greatest crafty tools and trends. Donating to a school, or senior center or a youth group, is an excellent idea. I've done it before ... it's time to do it again. Thanx for the suggestion. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteJust imagining the happy faces of the lucky students receiving the benefit of your purge, makes me smile. A lot of work to do it, but I am sure the results are well worth the effort. Relax and feel better, soon! BethAnn M. PS I can never resist a bargain on paper, either.
ReplyDeleteOh, your so brave to tackle just a large task like that, but I can feel your happiness at the end results. I'm so sorry to hear you are not feeling well and hope you get some needed rest. Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to feeling better soon. It always feels good to clean out and organize and how nice to have a local school benefit! Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon - can you lend me some of your ruthlessness, I am a hoarder of everything that I think might be useful one day for crafting

Ooh you are brave. I feel inspired to try and find my other desk. It's there somewhere under all the scraps. Hope you feel better soon. Hugz
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job you did on clearing out your paper and ribbon. I just bought a second hand media cabinet to store my Cricut and other supplies to get them off the floor. I have missed your posts and I am sorry you aren't feeling well, hope you feel better very soon.
ReplyDeleteI love a good sort out it always helps me get creative again. Sometimes I go in my craftroom and just tidy and don`t make anything but it makes me feel good. Have fun I am sure you will feel cleansed when you have finished. xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! I need to do the same thing, but my daughter and grandson have been living with me for a year now and my craft room has become their storage room to save my den! LOL And now I have to craft around their stuff. I think that may be why I have not been doing as much! :(
ReplyDeleteGet well soon Enfys! Well done on the clear out - when you're not 100% too. I've had flu for a few days and have given in today and retired to bed.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, hope you feel better soon Enfys. I could follow suite and do a big clean out soon too. I have a friend who runs a creche who is always glad to receive my cast offs lol.
ReplyDeleteHope the cold soon leaves you Enfys - they're bloomin miserable things aren't they? I had a little clearout at end of November and gave stuff to my granddaughter's nursery for Chriatmas crafting. I think schools and nurseries appreciate everything they are given. Get well soon, Pat x
ReplyDeleteWhen you are finished and your cold has gone could you pop over to my craft room and do the same with my stash - have a good day.
ReplyDeleteHere's to getting better soon!! I am going to purge my art room... again.. very soon! You're right about wondering what in the heck some of the things you find are!!! I, too, donated huge lots of paper/markers/ribbons/stickers, etc. to the art teacher at my grandkids school! They love that!!!!! It's hard to be ruthless, but honestly, after it's gone, I can't even remember what I got rid of!!! Enjoy the clean room!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better soon Enfys. Nice to have a crafty clear out but exhausting at the same time.

I have decided that a purge in necessary in my craft room (don't tell the hubby, he's been after me about it for ages) It's so hard to give up perfectly good things sometimes. A friend and I are going to have a little "garage sale" at the scrapping studio I partner in and then I'll have money to buy more stuff. LOL! Actually, I'd like to get a desk to work on rather than the huge table that takes up so much space. Good luck with your clean out!
ReplyDeleteHope you are not over doing it with the clear out and that you are taking care of yourself and that cold. Hope you are soon feeling much better and enjoying your de-cluttered craft room.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Hi, Enfys,
ReplyDeleteWhen you finish you are invited over to "refurbish" my craft room. I need to do this as it is a co=ordinated mess. I know where things are but to look at it, you would never know it. I have lost, "misplaced" my plastic box of rubber stamps. Maybe never to be found again. I praise your determination. I guess I will just have to move to get it done. Hope you are are feeling better.

Bravo!!! to actually let things go is fantastic and donate them fabulous!!.....to have room to move around and be able to reach for the tools you do use is great!! i told myself not to buy anymore stamps or paper until I use all of what I do have....and so far I've been good..
