Cozy Christmas....

I bought this stamp set at the NEC simply because I knew that somewhere I had some notecards, bought in Michaels in the USA about two years ago, that had a cable knitted cardstock .......perfect. Or it would have been perfect if I could find them

So what started out as a quick card, turned into a marathon as I turned the house upside down looking for the dollar notecards. They turned up eventually, here's what I made.....

Did I sound a bit smug the other day when I said the Christmas cards were in the mail? It serves me right, but the very next day no fewer than four cards arrived from people I had forgotten about (in fact, I thought one of them was dead, but that's another story........), so it's back to the drawing board for me, or maybe a trip into town to buy some cards for these emergencies. This is known in the UK as sod's law - you think you are done, and something else pops up.....

I have a Max story to share with you. He arrived home from school the other day and announced that he was going to be a carrot in his school Christmas play.
'A carrot?' asked his bemused parents, who spent the next twenty four hours wondering however they would make a carrot costume
He came home from school the next day, saying he was a singer, and had to wear coat, hat, scarf and gloves
How did this confusion come about?
'Well' he explained 'she said I was going to be a carrot singer.........'

Joy to the world..........

See you tomorrow

  6. Oh Enfys, you are a delight. Made me laugh. I am so glad I am not the only one who spends ages looking for things, although I have vowed get organised. No really, it's serious this time. Then the 'I thought they were dead'. Oh I'm laughing til it hurts. Beautiful real life humor. And then the carrot singer. Kids are great. Thanks for the joy.

  10. Adorable card Enfys, love those cozy little sweaters! Don't feel badly about needing more cards. I did the same thing myself and now I am scrambling around to make another dozen or so. How could I have been so far off???

I enjoyed your "Max" story ... bless his little heart. I was confused as I read it, wondering why there would be a "carrot" in the Christmas Play (surely they did not plan to feed him to the donkey in the nativity scene?). Anyway ... glad they got it all sorted out. =)

    Have a lovely day!

  11. Ohhh now I get it! I'm a little slow sometime or maybe all the time! Max is so cute.
Your card is adorable. I'm always leaving someone off my list by accident. Most of the time they get the card the week after Christmas.

  13. OK, well color me embarrassed
. I didn't get the carrot thing. I've tried all kinds of different words and songs to fit Max's 'carrot'. Please put me out of my misery :( What a very cute little card. I know what you mean about finding things...I think most of us spend lots of time looking for one thing or another. Even when I'm organized. Ahh well. Hugs, Jess
