I don't think I shared with you the Christmas mice commission that I made for Papercraft Inspirations magazine last year, the one that caused me a lot of angst because I couldn't get my head around mice and Christmas. In the end, the cards were cute, I will share the others with you tomorrow. This is my favourite - the mice were done with punches and I messed around with their little choirboy robes and gave them a little scrap of sheet music to hold...
Look what my very talented artist friend Anne has done for my kitchen - well, she didn't paint it for my kitchen exactly, but it sort of jumped into my car and came home with me. It hangs behind the dining table and looks perfect. Isn't it fabulous? It's painted in ink on canvas and has the most alluring silver highlights. I so wish I could do this sort of thing, but as I can't, well it is very handy to have a very good friend who can! Thank you Anne x
Overheard in town as I was walking along, a small child's voice piping 'please tell me we aren't going to go into that shop Mummy'. Amused, I turned around to see a worried looking little four year old - yes, it was a boy child, aversion to shopping must be in the male DNA!
See you tomorrow x
So beautiful. I love these colors. What a great friend. I love the little mice. I have actually been using my Expression machine and cartridges and paper. I will never get all this used but I love crafting....
ReplyDeleteLove the mice and the gorgeous painting.
ReplyDeleteTypical boy!!
Very cute card Enfys!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of Christmas mice on my Christmas tree from when I was doing ceramics all the time.
I think it is time to get the mold back out and fire some up for my Grandbabies to paint.
Love the little mice card. So cute. The painting is gorgeous.

What a lovely card - the mice's (is that the right way to put it?) faces made me laugh out loud! They look as if they are putting all their energy into singing.
ReplyDeleteCute card Enfys. Your painting is absolutely fabulous - those colours are just beautiful. Boys and shopping just don't go together do they? Pat x
ReplyDeleteThose mice are so cute.
ReplyDeleteWow, love that canvas and what super colours.
Toni xx
Love, love, love that card! What a talented friend. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteLovin' your mice Enfys, they are so sweet. Think that piccie might have jumped into my car too, it's beautiful. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteOh how cute those little mice are. For someone who couldn't "wrap her head around Christmas and Mice", you sure did a fabulous job. Now I can't wait to see the others you did for that magazine commission!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the painting your friend Anne did is lovely!
Yep ... no question about it, the "no shopping" gene is definitely programed in the male DNA somewhere. My DH does not like shopping with me one bit (and I assure you, that feeling is mutual). When we go shopping together, he is like a man on a mission and zips straight ahead to his target purchase. I, on the other hand, tend to browse and oft times come home with some unexpected treasures ... and even if I don't, just seeing the various possibilities is fun for me. Why can't we get together on this? (*sigh*)
Darling card, Enfys! Love the punch art mice with their music! Very creative! Gorgeous painting!
ReplyDeleteThat card is too cute! And the painting is gorgeous! I bet that little boy wouldn't be saying that if it was a toy store!

ReplyDeleteSweet little mice! I had the same trouble several years back when someone told me her family's tradition was to have a spider some where on their tree! My experience with spiders has been all bad. No I'm not afraid of them, but if they bite me... Well, I've ended up in the ER too many times so if there's a spider near me, you can rest assured it's a dead one! lol
ReplyDeleteOh my, I think the little choir mice is my all time favorite card of yours. It's just adorable. Your friend Anne is so talented. I don't blame you for hanging her painting in such a prominent location. I would also.
ReplyDeleteThat card is adorable! And the painting is fabulous! TFS!
ReplyDeleteCute mice, another great project! You are so lucky to have such a talented friend, love that canvas!
