At 11 AM on 11/11/2011 let us all bow our heads for a moment to honour those who made it possible for us to live in freedom. Because of them, I have the freedom to laugh with friends without fear, write whatever I want to say without fear, read whatever I want without fear of persecution, worship without fear, and know that my grandchildren will be brought up in a free country. I salute them, and wear my poppy with pride
Love this!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said!! I can't imagine the world we live in today without the bravery and honor of those soldiers that fight for our freedom!! It all sounds like really great sentiments, but honestly, I know it is absolutely the truth, and I cannot express enough the gratitude that I have to all of the fighting men out there that ALLOW us to have a "normal, peaceful world that we have become accustomed to!! Thank you!!!

Thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeletePeople always used to wear a poppy here in the U.S. too but I have not seen that in a while. I am grateful every day for those men and women from both the U.S. and other countries who have banded together and put their lives on the line to protect their countries. Well said, Enfys.
ReplyDeleteLest we forget!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has a family member in the armed forces I am wholeheartedly behind everything you have said.

ReplyDeleteThanks for remembering all of our Veterans. Freedom isn't free, they've paid the price for all of us
