Just sharing with you the card that I made for Scrappy-go-Lucky this week, more torn waves from DCWV navy cardstock, and I used the border feature on the Wall Decor cartridge for the boats - I cut them in black for a shadow, then in white, and just coloured the detail in with Promarkers.
The sun is from wildcard, and the sentiment circle is from Craftwork Cards
We have been to a fancy dress birthday luncheon party today, the dress code was the 1940's.......which I found quite hard. I have never seen so many fox stoles in my life - you know, the ones you see in films where the head of the fox is left on, and sort of slung around the shoulders. There was an 'ARP warden' sitting next to me, they kept playing the air raid sirens, and he leapt to his feet each time, blowing his whistle and trying to usher everyone out. It was all great fun, and we had a delicious meal (we were afraid they would serve spam fritters). It was a good job there wasn't a soup course, as there were rather a lot of men wearing RAF handlebar moustaches, I don't think they would have survived a bowl of soup. Me? I wore a vaguely 1940's style dress in the most hideous fabric, it didn't fit very well, and I felt a mess, but the seamed stockings do have a knack of making your legs look quite good, I may adopt these as a new trend
If you look at the top of the sidebar, I have put a poll, I would really appreciate it if you could take time to tick one of the options. I have resisted letting Google put small ads on here - how it works is that if you have ads on your blog, each time your readers click on that ad, you earn a few cents, so it's clickthrough/earn money. I spend quite a lot on postage for various blog candy/mailing stamped images etc, and thought this would help cover those costs. But I want to know what you peeps think first, it's no big deal for me, just an idea, and if most of you hate the idea, I won't go ahead. If there were ads here would you click? Would you still come and see me? Let me know.
On the subject of blogs, my background has gone missing - apparently Shabby Blogs have changed their server, so until I have time to play around and put in a new look for the blog, you will have to put up with boring white........
See you tomorrow
Great card! Love your waves. Good "man" card

ReplyDeleteI love the waves.. another super card. AND it sounds like a fun fun party. I have seen lots of people that have the ads... I don't click on them, I barely have time to post on the blogs... I am sure alot of people would... hugs

I'm gonna comment all in one here. The engagement card is great. Love all that bling!!! Monty is just a little doll!! Love all the glitter on the dress and wings of your card. The sailboat and waves are wonderful!! I never could understand why the women wore those fox stoles with the head still on them. Kinda gross to me!! :)
ReplyDeleteEnfys,
ReplyDeleteAnother great job on the card. I voted that it would not bother me any way. I don't think it registered. If it would help you cover some cost I am all for it. Great job.. I wondered when you were going to the event. Post a picture so we can see you.

Love the card. As for adds if it's something I'm wanting I'll check it out otherwise ignore. wouldn't bother me if you had them I wouldn't miss your blog. You make me smile almost everyday, and for the stockings with seams anything that makes my legs look better (I'm for that also!).
ReplyDeleteLove the card, great waves! We need a pic of you in the 40's style, sounds like a weird but good night lol. Wouldn't mind adds at all, go for it.
ReplyDeletePinky
Great card, love the waves, can't say I have time or could be bothered to click on a ad but I know I find it irritating if they move especially when I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun, your 40's do:) xxx
What a gorgeous card Enfys.

Love this card, looks fab for a guy and they are so hard to make cards for! ~Diane
ReplyDeleteI will visit- ads or not. I don't pay any attention to them. Love all of your projects and your writing!
ReplyDeleteCorrine
Sounds like you had a great time at that party.
ReplyDeleteI do love this wave look with the torn paper, very nice.
As for the ads, they don't bother me at all. I don't know if I would click on them, but they sure don't bother me. Go for it!
Hi Enfys hope you are well, sorry for the lack of visiting, all I can say is computers, can't live with them, can't live without them. Monty looks so cute in the catalogue shoot, he has the makings of a full time model. Sounds like you had a ball at the 1940's party and your card is fab, love the boats.

ReplyDeleteWOW Enfys! I missed your last post & looks like I missed your new look!! VERY CUTE AND your card is "Simply PERFECT" like ALWAYS my friend!!
ReplyDeleteBig Gypsy Hugs,
Emma;)
very cute card and I wouldn't mid the ads at all....just don't start playing that automatic music.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog and I don't tell you that like I should. So if you should put ads on it I will make a concerted effort to click on them and show support that way.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love how you did the waves. As for your poll, I would certainly still come to visit and don't mind seeing the ads at all however I am not sure I would click on them, most of what I have seen previously have been for U.S shops so tend to avoid due to postage and customs.

Love the sailing card, and love your description of your '40s luncheon. I would love to do something like that! My mum had one of those fox stoles and as a child I would recoil from its glassy-eyed little face. A fashion trend that will never return!
ReplyDeleteI really like your card! That Wall Decor cart was one of the only new ones that I am really interested in. I tried to vote on the ad thing and I don't care either way. They don't bother me one bit. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove the card and the waves. This would be a great guy card. Oh my goodness, seemless nylons and fox heads! Sounds like such a fun party. I don't mind the ads at all and when I was very very new, that means a short few months ago, I clicked on the ads all the time to discover new things. I still do it once in a while.

Hey Enfys, I sure have missed your blog! My computer was fried by lightning a couple of weeks ago and I really had some withdrawal symptoms... But we got a new one yesterday, so I'm trying to catch up. I don't think it's a bad idea about the ads. If I want to check it out, I just click on it. If not, I ignore it. So if you can make a little for your postage costs, I say have at it!
ReplyDeleteI love the new pix of the little ones. They grow so quickly don't they.. Thanks for sharing.
Enfy, I really enjoy your blog. I have been a subscriber for a while now. Your creations are beautiful, truly inspiring! I look forward to every post, you are so funny. I like to new background you chose very fitting. BTW, thanks for turning me on to Polka Doodles. I ordered the All around and everywhere cd-rom, and I am thinking of ordering 1 or 2(or 3) fairies. Anyway, thanks such a terrific job! Candy
