On Allsorts weekly challenge this week, they asked for a colour combo of black, white and one other colour
I reached for the red, and thought, no I can't do this after all the black/red/white ones last week, so went for yellow instead
The wine bottle and glass was cut from the Summer in Paris cartridge (from Scrappy-go-lucky) at 4". The bottom layer is actually a very pale lemon, I coloured the cork with E31 Copic marker. The base card measures 6 x 6" and was made from Core-dinations whitewash paper. The border punch is one of those huge ones by Martha. Sentiment is from a clear set by Fiskars
I used glossy accents on the bottle and glass to give a nice shiny finish
What happened about the hair? I went somewhere where a mature woman had made a reasonable job when I was last here. It wasn't until I was in the chair, hair shampooed and dripping wet, that they told me that she was off that day, and that the girl who shampooed me would cut it. I was too polite/British reserved/stupid/ to walk out, let's draw a veil over what happened next...............................................but I can tell you that two eyebrow rings, three nose studs, ten earrings and a ring through the upper lip are not necessarily the emblems of a good hairdresser
Still, let's look on the bright side of life, hair grows about 1/4" a month, by Christmas I should look quite normal again :)
See you tomorrow

ReplyDeleteLovely card Enfys. Nice cut on the bottle and glass. Great layout. I love your little stories, you always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteMarion
I truly hope that it's not that bad, however, if it is..like you said, hair grows. Thank goodness. oh yea, really like your card and color combo. Thanks for your talent and your humor.
ReplyDeleteYour card looks so elegant! Love
ReplyDeletethe colors!
Love this card Enfy!! That stamped saying is great. We really do get better, just like wine. lol
ReplyDeleteOh Enfys you scared me by your description of your hairdresser, not sure Id want someone like that doing my hair either.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card by the way, I love the layered look of it and the colouring. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx
Your card is great fun and I love the combination of yellow and black. I can feel for you about the hair. I haven't been having the greatest luck lately with hairdressers and the worst episodes always seem to happen just before I am going away or going to a special event - grrrr.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Your card is gorgeous! I love the colors and the wine bottle and glass! Shucks, that's another cartridge I DONT have! :) TFS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Enfys! I might have to scraplift this one. I'm sorry your hair didn't turn out, but I love your attitude, it will grow back. Have a great day. Shari (cricutrookie)
ReplyDeleteI really like the Summer in Paris cartridge. The card is really great.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the hair. Been there, done that. Luckily, my hair is curly enought that I can just let it go when I get a bad haircut and say it was meant to be that way?
Really love your card and recently used this cut as well. I like the sentiment. Your hair trauma sounds all too familiar. That's exactly the reason why my hair is so long! Pam
ReplyDeleteBoy can I sympathize! I went to a very expensive salon in Chicago once. (I had a coupon). I told them to keep in mind that I had to wear a hard hat at work, but not to make it to short, or make me look like a wierdo with spikes of all different colors everywhere. Well.... he didn't color the spikes... It took me about 6 months to have enough hair to cut again! At least I could wash out the stuff that made it spiky!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow with black and white! Lovely card, nice shine with the glossy accents! TFS
ROFL I think we need to see a picture. AND I love the card...I like how you colored the cork. So clever you are.
ReplyDeleteI love this cars Enfys.
ReplyDeleteIt Would be great for several different occasions.
Awww, I hope your hair is really ok.
Oh the wine bottle and glass are so inviting, I think we will have a glass of wine tonight! The sentiment is fantastic. I just love how you embellished your project with the shine.
ReplyDeleteI'm still growing my hair from my mistake of 2 years ago, died by my own hands then correct by a professional without all the holes in their body! My hair is actually acceptable now but I still see it. Next time, screw the politeness and walk out! At least you can say it was someone else not like me, LOL.
Hugs,
Sher
love your card and the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment, its perfect for this card!
ReplyDeleteWhat an elegant card. Great choice of colors. I gave up on hairdressers years ago and cut my own hair. Mirrors and chop chop and it's done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Enfys.
ReplyDeleteHugs Riet.xx
come on...post a picture! I want to see that hairdo!
ReplyDeleteVery nice card.
I love this card! Very very nice!
ReplyDeleteNow for the hair. Told you to come to Buffalo! LOL! It probably isn't as bad as you think, just not what you wanted. You should post a picture and see what we think!
OMGosh! So you need the eyebrow rings, nose rings, ten earrings and a lipring to go with the hair?! LOL Bless your heart!!! I just love your stories so much!! My DH gets a kick out of some of them too. Now, on to the card. Awesome!! Love love the sentiment!!
ReplyDelete:)
I love the card and the aged to perfection is perfect. I have enjoyed reading your hair story and can't wait to see the latest picture. You make my day so much better. Thank you for sharing your cards and your humor. Life is so much better because of you!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL card! Love those colors together.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your bad hair experience :(
maybe some vitamins will help get those locks growing faster?
Hugs,
Kristina
What a pretty card, and I love the reading on the tag!
ReplyDeleteROTFLMBO! I'm sorry I know that it's not really, funny, but you seen I've been there! Right here in Fl! I've looked like a mop, a hedgehog, a 90 year old granny, and an army inductee! Thank GOD my hair grows like a weed! Unfortunately, my hair grows like a weed. About the time I finally find somebody who I like and does a 1/2 decent job, she moves on. Or alternately raises her rates so high I refuse to pay!
ReplyDeleteBritish reserve aside, by the time they've got you in the chair it's to late! I know I've tried, to tell them JUST what I want. HA you get what they're in the mood to cut, or perhaps I should say chop, maybe even saw???
Hang in there!

Hi Enfys
ReplyDeleteLove this card - so glad you picked yellow to go with B7W - it looks so classy.
Thanks for taking on my colour challenge at Allsorts.
Take care

Great idea, dear Enfys, your card is so beautiful.

You always know how to bring a smile to my face, love the hairdresser's story although the hairdresser herself sounds more like she should of been in a piercing studio or tattoo palour lol. Are you now the only women in Florida walking around with a head scarf on!
ReplyDeleteLove the card, the soft lemon behind the bottle and glass really brings it all together and that sentiment is great.
