Boy Card - Wall Decor

I am having a ball with this cartridge, Wall Decor and More that I got from Scrappy-go-Lucky, not that I have any intention of decorating a wall, but there are some great features on there for cardmaking. One of the things I really like is the border feature, and this is what I used for these trucks, I cut a shadow in black at 2", then cut the trucks in yellow, blue and green and chopped them about.
The wheels are brads that I picked up in Big Lots, I wish I had bought loads of them now, they are so great for adding to this type of cut/stamp.
The papers are from a stack by We R Memory Keepers, the cityscape seemed perfect, the sentiment is cut from another paper in the stack, and the little spanner tag was part of the same stack - called Geo-hectic, the papers are great for man stuff

Don't forget you have until friday to enter your name for the Cri-kit pens, and to solve the anagram to win all those cartridges
It is really hot here now (well, I am in Florida), and the whole of our neighbourhood is awash with the Stars and Stripes flying proudly, getting ready for the 4th July I suppose. One of the things that I admire here is the patriotism of Americans. When we go to a 'do' at the clubhouse, we always finish the evening by joining hands and singing 'God Bless America', I know all the words now. I daresay that England is now fluttering with the flag of St George, because of the world cup, ( for those of you who are less than interested in soccer, the World Cup is currently being played in South Africa), but I can't imagine us all joining hands and singing a patriotic song, more's the pity. Perhaps it's because we don't really have any great rousing songs, our national anthem is like a dirge, we could chant Rule Britannia or belt out a couple of choruses of Jerusalem I suppose.
I always thought that Billy Connolly ( a comedian for those of you who have no idea what I am rambling about) had a very good idea when he suggested that we should adopt the theme music from 'The Archers' (a very long running radio show in the UK) as our national anthem. No words necessary, just rum ti tum ti tum ti tum, rum ti tum ti tum tum...............................................
So even though I have no interest in footy at all, I am still waving my flag
COME ON ENGLAND
all together now
rum ti tum ti tum ti tum...................................................

  1. Oh Wow Enfys! What an awesome card my friend. You always have a way to bring out the best in a design. Your background and your chopping up the trucks really makes this card a truly "Enfys creation." I love it, and think that it is just perfect for a boy card or wall decor. Stay cool and keep intouch.

    Hugz, xx

It would be sooooo cool to win those carts! I have my anagram answer in already so you never know, I could win them! Or some pens, never can tell, someone has to win right?!?!?

  13. Love the card En! Thanks for the comment about our patriotism. I get chills when I hear our national anthem. I guess since it's played at every major event. And everyone stands, takes off their hats, places hands over heart and sings at the top of their lungs - might have something to do wiht it.
I love Billy's humor, very funny guy. So good luck to all you 'footie' fans... who ever you cheer for!

  14. That's a great card! It's so fun to see what cuts people can find & use from carts that I don't think I want. And I love those tire brads. I may have to check Big Lots for some.

  18. Enfys this is a really cute card and I love how you can take something and turn it into your own creation. As a side note, today is Flag Day in the U.S., it is the day we celebrate when the 2nd. Continental Congress authorized a new flag for our new country & I think Pres. Roosevelt declared this particular day to honor our Flag. Gosh I was lousey in history in school, someties I am so surprised when I actually remember somethg, LOL.

  19. Enfys:
I am SO GLAD TO HEAR about the U.S. patriotism - I sometimes think we Americans forget so many things that are important to our country (like 9/11) and take for granted what a great country we have!! Thanks for reminding us! Since our SIL is French we are certainly learning and enthused about soccer - some day our DGS may be supporting the family with his soccer career! So I will pull for the American, English, and French teams in the World Cup!

BTW, great card! Love those wheel brads - TFS!

  22. Hi Enfys! Love the way you used the border element as the focus of the card. It opens up a whole realm of possibilities for this newbie!
We've been out of England a loooong time, so I have not heard the "Archers' Theme" suggestion. LOL and humming along!
Too bad "On Ilkla' Moor Baht 'At" is a regional song. Now THAT can be sung with gusto! Thanks for the Monday morning smile! Christine
