Caardvarks is one of my favourite challenge blogs, the design team over there are super-talented and I love their creations. This week, they challenged us to use this sketch by Becky Flack, of Pagemaps. To be honest, I struggled a bit with it, but although the result is a simple little card, I do really like it
For the lines on the sketch, I used cuttlebug borders
and I liked the fresh look of the shocking pink and white stripes against the white. The pink nestie circle is exactly the same colour, it looks a bit different in the photo
I am going to start listing the 'ingredients' for each card after each post
pink pattern paper - Paper factory
white scallop cut with zooballoo cartridge/cricut machine
flowers - wedding aisle at Michaels
pink shimmerz dots by Papermania UK
Embossed floral border punch Provocraft

So here is my tiny patio garden this morning, now those of you who live in the Northern States of the USA, or Canada, will laugh scornfully at this pathetic sprinkle of snow. Believe me, it's a big deal here in the UK, we usually have a light snowfall maybe once a year, the country crawls to a bewildered standstill, it melts, and we go back to grey drizzly days again. This year, we have had a long period of really, really cold weather, and I have made a startling discovery, .................
I think I was once a dormouse!
I feel a definite, almost uncontrollable urge to hibernate, I want to fluff up my duvet and bury myself in it until the sun comes out again. Failing that, I will wrap up in my thermals and try to think sunshiny thoughts.....

How cute!!! I'm just starting out in the paper crafting world and love seeing creations buy more experienced crafters. I hear you about the weather. Here in NC it's been below freezing and windy. It feels like 8 degrees and it's just too cold to even run errands.
ReplyDeleteOh En, this epitomizes Spring and sunshine, I love it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThis is SO pretty! I love the embossing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful En! This is a sketch I just may be able to do too. Your take is gorgeous! Your snow beats the once in a lifetime fall that we had this year any day. Looks like tons to me I'm with you on the hibernation. I've become a wimp since moving from Michigan. LOL Stay warm! xxD
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, and your background.
ReplyDeleteLove your card En, it's perfect as always. Your patio looks lovely covered in snow, cold but lovely. I'm afraid you wouldn't be all that much warmer in Florida right now. Down here in So Florida it will be in the 30's tonight! I swear by silk long underwear and Icebreaker 260 tops from New Zealand to keep warm in subzero Wisconsin in the winter. I'll be freezing my bits and pieces off for a week this month in NY and for a week in Feb in Wisconsin. Think warm thoughts for me, please!
ReplyDeletehugs, eileen
This is gorgeous, love the colors and the flowers..
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful desighn.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful desighn.
ReplyDeleteHi, I really love this nice clean, crisp, but colorful card this morning. Well as all of your Florida friends have probably told you already, we are enjoying some "lovely" 30 degree weather and I cannot wait for it to be gone. Don't want the hot, hot summer, but just comfortable would be great. We really are spoiled aren't we? Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteI loved the desighn you used
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful card. I like the design and the colors very much.

I'm with you on the sunshiney thoughts, En, we've had 5 inches today, the most I've seen in years.
ReplyDeleteI love your pink and white card, it's so fresh and the cuttlebugged borders work brilliantly.
Keep warm.

Such a pretty card Enfys. Love the pink and white. Garden patio also looks pretty, we have some snow but nothing like that.
ReplyDeleteMarion
that is an awesome card....the snow is cute...in PA that wouldn't amount to much, but it does still make you want to hibernate.
ReplyDeleteoooh this is absolutley gorgeous En, I love it. The pink looks fab against the white and the embossing works perfectly

Beautiful. I love how you used the embossing border for the stripes, fab idea.
ReplyDeleteJust received some pics from the UK this morning, I love the look of snow but I will stick to my sun hear in Australia. It took my brother in law 50 mins to do a 10 mins journey yesterday.
hugs

ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful. Great choice of colours!
ReplyDeleteThats so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar scene outside my bedroom window now :)
What a pretty card, Enfys! And thank you so much for kind of introducing Caardvarks to me - I love this blog and I will try to find time to join the challenge!

Oh how lovely .. both the card and the patio pic. The card is very much to my liking with it's fresh, clean look. It's a wonderful change of pace and fitting for the spring we are all longing for right now. Speaking of which, how fun to get a bit of snow. I'm in Florida, so I know you understand when I say ... it just does not snow here! But I do miss it and would so love to have at least a day or two of the lovely white stuff each year.
ReplyDeleteHugz,
♥Carol♥
BTW ... thanx, Enfys, for adding the card ingredients (details) ... this is going to be so helpful, as I often see you using an embellishment that has me wondering what it is and where it came from. You come up with the most amazingly creative things, not to mention lovely papers!
ReplyDeleteHugz,
♥Carol♥
Morning Enfys, I think you might find a bit more snow outside this morning weve had a lot in the Forest. Wow love your card, the colour combo is really striking. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card Enfys! And your patio looks so pretty with the snow (although it look like it's a pretty patio without it as well). And being a resident of NEW England, we get lots of snow! So far we have 3 relatively large storms, each giving at least 8 inches. One storm we got over a foot! It's gorgeous of course but as soon as New Years hits I don't want to see it again until next Christmas...is it spring yet???
ReplyDeleteHugs, Nikki
Your cards you do are soooooo fab.
ReplyDeleteYour disign is soooooo fab looking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card! I absolutely love that pink and white and the embossing adds the perfect amount of texture!
ReplyDeleteSending you warm wishes!

Love the bright shiny colors of your card. But then I always love your things.
ReplyDeleteHere in the 'sunny' south, it was 25 degrees last night! They are calling for some snow here before the end of the week! Can you believe it! I don't care if we get some snow, as long as it melts before I have to drive in it. (SC has lousy drivers without snow!)
I'll be wrapped up in a blankie here too En. Stay warm.
beautiful card, the embossing is so pretty! your garden looks lovely with a sprinkling of snow, we do have quite a bit more than that and life goes on as normal, we are sitting here amused at the Uk grinding to a halt as usual! Happy New Year! hugs Debxx
ReplyDeleteThe card is really great! It brings some nice color to a dreary time of year.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that living in NE Ohio in the winter is like living inside a ping pong ball - like a grayish dome overhead. Sorry I can't sympathize with your snow. We're due to get up to 18 MORE inches in the next few days.
I'm not a fan of mice, but I agree, I'd love to just hibernate for a while too.
What a beautiful card. Very simple, but stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully elegant card!
ReplyDeleteStunning card. Simply elegant.
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH I really love how you did the embossing on this card!!
ReplyDeletejust so pretty~

Lovely card. The pink and white is so fresh and clean. Great job on the challenge.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful - love the pink and white. Totally agree with your urge to have duvet days until this (urge to swear now) weather clears.
ReplyDeleteEnfys, this is such a fresh, lovely card!! I love your use of the embossing and the white on white is fab.
