Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW
YEAR!

Whatever you are doing tonight, I hope you have a wonderful time. Me? We are staying snug at home in front of the TV

To tell you the truth, New Years Eve has always been a bit of a washout for me, not that we haven't had some lovely times in the past, but it all seems a bit forced to me. You dress up, you eat, you drink, you start looking at your watches in a furtive way at about 10.30, 10.40, 10.50.......by 11.30 you think midnight will never come....thank goodness, here come the fireworks, now we can go home. That's just me, being a grumpy old woman probably, but to be honest I felt the same way when I was 21!

However, I do love the thought of a new year, a clean page, a fresh start, time to cross all those things off your list that have been there since January 1st 2013 - or put the same things onto a new list, which makes it all seem so much more achievable somehow

So here we are, at the threshold of a brand new year, and I am raising my glass to all of you. Thank you all so much for all your support, comments and friendship over the past year, without you, I would be very lonely here, burbling on about cards and life in general without anyone listening.

Here's to 2014 x

  1. En, Happy New Year to you and Mike.... I too love the fresh start of a new year and I do have some items that I hope to accomplish in the coming year. When you get to the point where you are not sure how many more you will have they really become more important.

anyway.... a healthy happy 2014 and hope to see you guys in 2014.

    Love, Carol

  4. I'm much like you, don't see what the big deal is about. My hubby and I usually do something low key and at the last minute. This year we'll be spending a quiet evening with my brother and sis in law eating snacky foods and having "intelligent conversation" Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2014.

  7. I'm with you all the way. There is nothing nicer than just snuggling up indoors - watching some fireworks if you feel like it and toddling off to bed when you want.

Have a great New Year and don't worry...I'll still be dropping by in 2014 as I'm many other folk will be.

  8. Happy New Year to you as well!

On the other side of the coin, every morning I spend about 20 minutes on the computer reading e-mail while drinking my cup of coffee ... what would I have to look at if you didn't have a blog?!

Thank you for sharing all your beautiful creations!

  10. Enfys, I think exactly like you. We sit in front of the TV, as usual, except for the extra sweets in the table and quietly see the year change.
I wish you a 2014 full of inspiration for new achievements and mostly, full of health and hapiness.
    Hugs,
    Guida

  14. I've never been big on New Years Eve celebrations. Seems to me it's just an excuse to drink too much and do silly or even stupid things. My favorite memories were the times I spent with my dad, while we listened to the Boston Pops orchestra play wonderful music. Cheers to you and Mike and Happy New Year! Hugs, Jess

  18. Here's hoping the new year brings wonderful things to you and your family. Our's will be a quiet evening, just Keith and I, snuggled together in front of the TV, where we will be watching the ball drop in NYC times Square and other celebrations around the world. That's how we spend New Year's Eve every year, but we enjoy it. May 2014 be happy, healthy and filled with delightful memories for us all!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR ENFYS! =)

  20. A very Happy New Year to you, too! I feel the same way; I love the new beginning but the midnight thing seems a bit too long for me. We've been out, we've stayed in, stayed up, and gone to bed before the moment. The new year comes no matter what we do so do what you feel is best! Keep inspiring us, and thank you for all the wonderful ideas. BethAnn M.

Years ago we did party, but it's so much more comfortable, pj's, pizza and a glass of wine. A toast, a kiss, and off to bed. .to sleep. Thanks for all your blogging, humor and ideas for us all.
