I bought a rolled rose die from MFT and love the way I can cut felt with the die (using my cuttlebug). You can roll the flowers up tight, or leave them more open as I have done here. I dropped a blob of PVA glue in the centre of each and sprinkled that with tiny seed beads. The bird is a Fiskars punch, and the branch was cut from the Bloom cartridge on my Cricut. Sentiment label is by Craftwork Cards
edited to say I have been to the MFT site and they don't have the rolled rose die showing. It's a new product, so if you want one, I would email them and ask when they will be back in stock
Here's what the die looks like, and the felt when cut, but not rolled - you just start at the centre and roll up, glueing it as you go
I gave myself a much needed weekend off this weekend - time to alter the look of the blog, it looked very summery in it's old clothes, now it is all wrapped up for winter
I also had time to sit slumped in front of the TV for hours, something I rarely do. I watched a load of old rubbish, but there was one advertisment that had me crying with laughter.....someone has invented slippers with a LED light in the front, that apparently will stop you suffering all sorts of disasters. It made me wonder how I have been getting up at night and groping my way into the bathroom in the dark without breaking my neck. How lucky I must have been for all these years not to trip over a sleeping dog or cat, fracture my skull on a doorway or break a leg when going to soothe a crying child.
Now on the advertisment (which went on for some time, and was priceless), the light looks like a tiny LED bulb that lights up when you slip your feet into the slippers. But in the examples shown, (some camera trickery going on there without a doubt) these little lights were as bright as the headlights on a truck, indeed, you could probably safely guide a jumbo jet into land with nothing more than a pair of these miraculous slippers. They brought a whole new meaning to the term twinkletoes. I do hope you get to see the ad - watch out for the bit where a whole family are squashed up on the sofa all wearing their twinkly slippers (a nice feature was that the light switches off when you take the weight off your feet, and comes back on automatically to guide you safely into the kitchen to pour yourself a very large glass of wine in an attempt to blot out the mind-numbing effect of watching the ad) - I do hope that I am not talking to someone who has bought light up slippers for every member of their family, if I am, please do not be offended, as you know it doesn't take much to tickle my sense of humour!

ReplyDeleteWow love the flowers Enfy, I must have a look for that die its superb for flowers. I think we all could do with light up slippers amd you gave me a good laugh. Love the look of your new blog.
ReplyDeleteThe drifiting snowflake you asked about, I made from a MS punch, cut them out and the glittered them to death so they were really stiff, hope that helps.
Hugs Linda
Enfys did you know Jen C has a cricut similiar to your die? If you email her and make a small donation she will send you the cut. If I remember correctly it is called a three d flower.
ReplyDeleteHy Enfys, I love those roses!! And you overall card is great too\!! Very sophisticated look! Greetz, Frea
ReplyDeleteLOL these slippers must be "The Christmas gift" this year :o)
ReplyDeleteLove your card.
Greetings from Iceland

Couldn't sleep so I thought I would get on the laptop and catch up on emails. I had to go into the family room to get it and it's pretty dark. I have blackout drapes. I didn't want to turn on the lights, so as to not wake anyone. But I did anyways. I crashed and tripped over everything. I was thinking I needed a flashlight or something. Are you sure those slippers aren't a must have? LMAO too!!!!! Love your stories. Thanks for a great laugh in the wee morning.
ReplyDeleteHi Enfys, I went to MTF snd couldn't find the die. I tried rolled rose and it didn't come up. The other 2 flower dies that come up don't look the same as yours. I would love to have one.
ReplyDeleteDon't even open my eyes in the middle of the night to go to the loo. Anyway there can't be many people these days who encounter total blackness in the middle of the night with all the street lighting. If you are one of those people -lucky you -can I come and stay over night just to see the stars? Hugs BettyXX
ReplyDeleteLove those flowers BTW
En gorgeous, glad you got some you time and your blog is lovely. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWe probably will not get to see that add here, but it sounds like a good laugh. Love the new look of your blog
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. I did laugh at the idea of this ad, we don't know what we're missing over here, do we? I wondered if they're that bright and you put them on in the dark, if they don't blind you with their brightness and you walk into the nearest door anyway?!
ReplyDeleteEnfys, once again, I am so glad to have found your blog! Your card is beautiful and I had not heard of MFT until now. I love the rose die, but did not find it available at the MFT website. The story of the light up slippers has me roaring!! So glad to hear you had a little time to relax. We all need it once in a while. Thanks again for showing your beautiful card!! -nu2scrap-
ReplyDeleteSure know how to have a great time! Love flowers on everything!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Donna

Thank you so much. Not only are these flowers beautiful and they are stunning in white on a gorgeous card, but I have to say the LED slippers have made my day!! You made me LMAO also!!!!
ReplyDeleteTFS
Hi Enfys, couldnt find that die on the website I suspect theyve sold out, love the flowers they are gorgeous as is your card.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would want slippers with lights in, Im sure you would probably be looking at them instead of where you were going. With love and hugs Shirleyxx
Your flowers look great, I have seen this die but was not sure what you would do with it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics xx
Love your sense of humour, blog looks great. Your flowers are perfect. Hugs lin
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful card Enfys,I love the flowers.
ReplyDeleteHugs Riet.x
I love your card, just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd about those slippers, well I'll tell you, I won a pair of them a while back at a fundraiser crop that I am involved with. They light up pretty good, but I did have a problem with the fact that one of them wouldn't turn off one night after I wore them. I had to stick that sucker under a piece of furniture in my bedroom so I could get some sleep, it was like having an unwanted night light on. Haven't seen the ad about them though.
Can't unfortunately see your flowers...so will return later. Had a good laugh at your post as I was watching an add for snuggle sacs which are body shaped blankets. It shows the sheer delight on a boy about the same age as my son recieving one of these.....no comment! Think Jacob would ask me if I had lost my marbles....Cheers Claire x
ReplyDeletebrilliant ideas die cut felt flowers and it's beautiful ...

Oh EN!!! you do make me laugh! Thanks so much for your silly sense of humor! You know there would be a problem in my house with those slippers. My cats love an led light pen we have. When they hear the jingle of the little chain that is attached, they both come to see if they are getting to play. The chase it and try to catch it with both their paws and their teeth! So I'm thinking that instead of keeping me from tripping over sleeping cats...I'd mor likely be tripping over them both while they try to bite my toes!!! I can't wait to tell Don about this tonight, he'll get a chuckle too! Thanks my friend, and Oh yes, I almost forgot,
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers, and the little bird. I think I'm going to get the sentimentals cartridge. Do you use it a lot? Well thanks for the lovely card and the silly story!
Hugs Jess
