First of all a Craftwork Cards card, all the supplies used are from them, including that lovely scalloped frame. The flowers were cut using the george cartridge and the cricut, and the 'brads' are paper card candy - I find them so useful
I thought you would all - especially those of you from overseas - like to see what our town looks like in the spring. It reminds me of Wordsworth's 'I wandered lonely as a cloud............' or Robert Browning's 'Oh to be in England now that April's there............................
Some years ago a local businessman planted some daffodils on the verges of the approach roads to the town, they have been added to and multiplied over the years, and now, if you are driving into Solihull you are met with the glorious sight of a sea of gold. They are late this year because of the long cold winter we have had, but I am so glad they decided to show their colours before we leave the UK for a while. It always generates a surge of civic pride in me to see the town looking so pretty.
Back with more tomorrow....

Wordsworth's Daffodils was one of the few poems I ever wanted to memorize. Thanks for sharing the photo and bringing that verse back to mind.
ReplyDeletethe flowers are beautiful, both on your card and in the field.

Enfys, what a positively beautiful card. Is that an embossing folder you used on the frame? Love the colors and the candy bits. I looked into purchasing some on-line but it was going to run me over $20 for shipping! Yikes! I guess I'll stick with brads unless they decide to sell them in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteThe dafodiles are beautiful, I just love spring flowers.
Hugs,
Kristina
Great card En. I love those brads! The things I miss most from living up north are daffodils and tulips! Thank you for reminding me how very beautiful spring can be.
ReplyDeleteLovely card, Enfys, and lovely flowers too. I used to live in northern New Hampshire, and there was a field full of Dandelions.(I know they're weeds)But when they were blooming you couldn't see any grass!!! It was an entire field of yellow. It was soooo beautiful even if they are weeds!
ReplyDeleteOoops I forgot I'm praying that you and Mike have a safe return to the states. Hugs
ReplyDeletebeautiful - as always!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful pic, what a treat to see that field of daffodils. Oh and a I really like the card too.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much for the pics ofthe daffs. The midwest used to be covered with wildflowers, daffs, and such out on all the country roads, but alas not much any more. I sure do miss seeing them, of course, now in Florida it is much different then home.
ReplyDeleteOh, the daffodils are so lovely...as is the card! There is a place that looks just like that in Greenville, North Carolina, and I had a favorite photo taken there. I can see why you love it so. Happy Spring!

The card is so lovely Enfys! Thanks so much for sharing a piece of your "other home" with us..I so want to travel there some day!!!! THe daffodils are so pretty! In WA state, they have fields of tulips north of where I used to live (have I mentioned this before? ;) ) If I did, forgive me..anyways, they are so beautiful, and some people grow the "black tulips" which are actually a very deep purple, so gorgeous..tulips & daffodils, my favorite flowers. (oops carnations, and all time favorite Sweet peas, that grew up my Grandma's fence in Minnesota).
