Here's a card I made for this month's Papercraft Inspirations magazine - for the quick cards section. On sale now, there are lots of great ideas for Spring cards in the magazine. The rabbit was done with punches, clouds are Memory Box dies..It actually is a little 'dented' - it was made when I was in America, sent across to the UK to the magazines photography studio, then sent back to me. So a well travelled little card....
I found a space on my desk for my beloved Singer sewing machine which I use just for cards, and shipped it across the Atlantic. I love it because it is so easy to thread, takes just seconds to change to a different colour thread. Anyway, I wanted to sew on a card so set it up. Wow, it roared along at a rate of knots. Not quite right, I mused and pondered, and changed the settings a bit. No difference, this machine was on steroids. If there was an Olympics for machines, mine would win the gold without any problem. Finally the penny dropped - it is not dual voltage and is used to running on 120 volts (USA) and I had it plugged in to take 240 volts (UK). Ooops! Apparently you can buy a converter, so I am going to search for one today, in the meantime the machine is unplugged before it sets the house on fire, and my cards will have to remain unstitched!
You still have time to put your name down for the flexmarker set on offer earlier this week, scroll down for the post. I am doing a spot of grandbaby sitting this weekend, so expect some tales if Max and Milo are on top form!
Ok...This will be the third time I was the lst to comment. That's ok.. I love the card and sometimes I would like to find a rabbit hole and just go in and stay awhile. Love the card and it looks great as is. Hope you have wonderful stories to tell about the grandchildren...This was a rabbit hole day I guess.

ReplyDeleteLove the bunny going into his hole. Probly preparing for the trip. lol My DIL had to take our Tiffany to the dentist for some surgery so I went and sat with Mason for the first time...ever! He wore me out, but it was grand. He's a little bruiser! over 2 1/2 feet tall, and almost 30lbs! And only 15 mos old!

Adorable card!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of electrical differences, one time we were in the UK and I had used my curling iron through out the whole vacation, with a converter. The last day I was getting ready to go to the airport and I rolled my hair up on that iron and it had over heated, my hair melted to the iron and my head was pretty badly burned. What a mess! Thank goodness it hadn't been my daughters hair, she was a tween at the time and would have totally freaked! I wrote to the company that made the converter that I had and they replace it with a new set and a self converting travel curling iron.
Looking forward to reading your stories about the grandkids. Also, if you haven't already found a solution for the sewing machine, I can recommend Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge Protection by Conair. I just returned from 3 weeks in Australia and it worked wonderful. Amazon.com has them for a reasonable price. Good luck. Oh, I also really like the card.
ReplyDeleteI love this card. It's really cute.
