Here's a Penny Black bear, I thought he looked as if he was having a pensive moment, so I made it a 'thinking of you' easel card. The circle easel card comes ready cut from Craftwork Cards, papers are Martha Stewart. I kept it simple, sometimes simple is best...
Coloured with Promarkers (mainly the new limited edition Spring set, apart from his sailor suit trim, which is a navy flexmarker)
I inked the edges of some white Prima flowers to match his sailor suit, and the sentiment was stamped with the Navy flexmarker as well
Don't forget, if you want Card Candi, which a lot of you have been looking for in the USA, Blitzy has it on sale, loads of different colours, I think it's $1.99 for a pack (you get about 400 candi circles in a pack, so maybe you could join forces with a friend and split some packs between you to build up your collection, and if you join then invite your friend, you will get a $10 credit when she buys - win win). Don't forget to get some white ones, you can colour those with your markers so that they match your project perfectly
February - time to take stock of new year resolutions......
Growing my hair - FAILED - I lasted for about three weeks before I had a 'short back and sides'. It looks much better, I was beginning to feel like a topiary - you know, a big bushy ball on top of a stalk! Slap me if I start talking about growing it again
Cutting back on craft supplies and using what I already have - FAILED - well, they shouldn't keep bringing out all this enticing new stuff and waving it at me, and if I wasn't meant to go to a big craft fair in Frankfurt, God wouldn't have let us invent planes
Spending more time on housework than crafting - ermm, forgot about that one
Diet - Fail
Exercise - Fail
Other stuff..........
Fail
Fail
Fail
Fail
Ah well, there's always next year.....
Happy Valentines Day to all romantics out there, or Happy expensive-double-the-normal-price-red-roses day as it should be called.....
I love the simplicity of it all, Enfys! That little bear is adorable.
ReplyDeletePensive is perfect for this little guy, he's soooo cute! While I was doubled over laughing at the results of your resolutions I noticed you've posted new pics of the grand-kiddos...OMG they are growing SO fast! Thanks for the laugh Enfys, although you know it's really hard to type when you've got tears of laughter rolling down your face and splashing on the keyboard.....

Love the bear and the simplicity of the card. Your grandchildren are beautiful! Your list of resolutions and what happened to them, sounds just like mine. We try and try again, whether we get it right or not. At least we try.

LOL Enfys - don't give up so soon - it is only the beginning of the year still.

Very cute card. I love all my card candy! I spent a couple of hours the other day making flowers with them. They are so small, that I got glue all over both hands. (I'm still picking it off!) But I have a couple dozen little flowers for my cards. They're cute. And since they're hard to hold, they all come out looking different. Just like in nature. No flower looks the same as it's sister. Thanks for the chuckle my friend. Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh you haven't failed on the wonderful cards you are making. That is the most important and it wasn't on the list.
ReplyDeleteLove the card. Really adorable!
Happy Valentine's Day
Boy I hope I don't get roses! How does one tell their husband when he is so proud to bring them home (usually after he has done something stupid) That you would rather have a Cricut Cartridge?
I love the card its so sweet. I just bought the new spring promarkers and wasn't sure I would use the colours. Now I have seen them on your card, I have realised how cool they are - thank you! I love your entertaining post, I'm glad I became a follower xx
ReplyDeleteLove the bear and those new marker colors are awesome! Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just darling! Your new years resolution story is hilarious!! Especially the part about slapping you if you talk about growing it again!!

I've always loved clean and simple cards. This one is adorable. I dont't even bother with a resolution since I always fail all of my wishes.
ReplyDeleteHi hun
ReplyDeletetotally adorable card, fab colouring as always, lovely design, sue,x
I love the easel card and of course, if your coloring is wonderful. Regarding your resolutions....you have to fail at something so your other accomplishments look that much better. Yesterday when I looked at your post it surprised me how big the grand kids are getting. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteEnfys, I love your blog and would so love to win the marker set!

I think instead of saying "Failed" it should say, "Tried." At least you attempted. :)
