It's been a while since I made a black and white card, always a favourite of mine. This one is really simple, the papers are anonymous ones that have been hanging around for ages. I cut the circles for the flower with the George cartridge and the Cricut expression, and roughed the edges up a little with sandpaper. The leaves were handcut
I will be picking the winners for the Promarkers later today - pop back tomorrow to see if you won
I see that the President of the USA is visiting the UK over the next couple of days. Apparently he has an entourage of 400 with him. 400? Good grief. These include a few chefs apparently. Chefs? Do they not think that he will be fed in Buckingham Palace? There's me, I manage to cross the Atlantic regularly with an entourage of one - my chief luggage lugger Mike. I have been known to do the journey with no entourage at all, just me and the inevitably overweight luggage. Now if I had my way, in a perfect world, I would have my personal hairdresser, a make up artist, my ladies maid, a couple of chefs........until the world is perfect, I will just have to rely on smiling sweetly at the nearest available bloke 'would you mind terribly just giving me a hand with this suitcase....careful, it's a bit heavy'.
Talking of cases - yes, it's that time again, the packing, the anxious lifting of cases to assess the weight, the agony when you can't fit it all in. I always take ridiculous choices of clothes back with me as well, flushed and warmed by the hot Florida sun, I tend to forget that in the UK I rarely, if ever, wear shorts, we don't have a pool so I really don't need ten swimsuits, I probably will never wear the stuff until it is time to pack it all back into the poor old suitcase to lug it back to Florida again. Life is a circle........
See you tomorrow
Wow Enfys, I would never think of putting all those patterns in the black and white card--it is very pretty! Good luck on your trip back!

Don't even get me started on the "entourage". I can get a bit worked up over that. Sorry to hear that we're loosing you for 3 months. But I know that those adorable grandkids are calling. Hmmm was awful quiet at Duncan Donuts on this trip!

That's a beautiful monochromatic card! And the pink bling just add the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your work again Enfys. Just back from a 6 week trip to NZ, and didn't have much time on the computer. Good luck with the packing.
ReplyDeleteWow, Enfys, it looks so great. I love the black and white.

oh this is amazing hun the color combo is brilliant great design, hugs cheryl xxxxx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Enfys, I love black and white too. There's definitely no need for bikinis atm, it's very windy here right now! I don't think Barka Obama is coming to England, just Ireland (where the Queen has just visited, too!) Hope the ash cloud doesn't prevent you coming home.
ReplyDeleteits stunning, I always forget to use my cricut for flowers etc. We had the president here in Ireland and he was well accepted. He is one fine looking man, isn't he? But as you say a bit daft to bring all that stuff across, one of their long cars got stuck here in Ireland, it was too long to get over the hill, so funny;)
ReplyDeleteGreat card Enfys, love the new picture of Kiki too, so sweet! Wonder who's paying for 380 family members to go with huh!
ReplyDeleteAnother really cute card. And I'm with Rufus - don't even get us started on our "President's entourage" and a few other WH things!! Enjoy those grandkids - I can imagine how much you miss them!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do all the traveling back and forth - I have a house, and RV and a camper at the lake to keep up with and I do an absolutely horrible job!! None of the 3 stays clean (and don't ask about the lawn work!) Have a great time!!
Jackie
Enfys,
ReplyDeleteI love black and white also. Seems like you just got over here. I hope you have a great trip back. This weather is so violent. I finally made some cards using Loralie. I purchase a fabric panel and 4 stamps. I need to get busy and find time to do the stamps. Thanks for the inspiration that you give to us all.

Well, Enfys you did you magic again with so many patterns looking beautiful. I don't believe you are headed home already. Have a good trip. Joan
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty card, I couldn't ever imagine putting those patterns together but they really work. I can't believe your packing to return to the UK already it feels like you only just left!!

Love your commentary on the President's entourage. I'm here in the US and it is disgusting how much money he wastes!!! BTW, love your card!
ReplyDeleteI do love a black and white combo card! You did a beautiful job on this one. Love it. TFS!

ReplyDeleteI love black and white cards once in a while, too. This is a pretty one!
Won't comment on B.O. as my Gran always said, "Say something nice or not at all." So, - - -
Safe travels, I'll check back tomorrow to see if I'm the lucky one.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card. Black and white is so classy. Good luck with your packing. I don't envy you.
ReplyDelete400 is a bit much...
ReplyDeleteHaha I know what you mean about the clothes En! I took much less this time but still hardly wore anything I took, shorts, bikini tops and t shirts ALL the time - I took one small case but bought back 3 - the other 2 full of crafting bargains from Michaels, Jo-ann's and Hobby Lobby LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, nice card, and this pink diamond in the flower makes it brilliant :)
ReplyDeleteLove your card Enfys!!! Black and white is so striking and makes for a beautiful project. I have received my blog candy and want to thank you again. I love all the pastel colors and especially the papers in the paper pad. I'm going to have sooooo much fun crafting with this set. And BTW, I won't even go into how we tax payers who foot the bill feel about these kinds of trips. I'm like you, I manage to make my trips with me and my grandson, no problemo! A chef???? I'd like to have one in my home!!!! Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Sharon :o)
