Okay, so I have been fabric crazy this week, I promise to give them a rest next week.........maybe. Here is another of the fabulous golfers by Loralie, the sentiment was from an acrylic stamp by Studio G for father's day, I just cut off the word Dad. I thought the black doodling and stitching added a bit of contrast to what is a very bright card.
If it's your first time here, see my tutorial on making cards out of fabric.
I have had to put everything to one side for a few days while I got a magazine commission finished, all done and in the mail now, but today there hasn't been a lot of crafting done, just a lot of scratching - we went out with friends for dinner the other evening, to a place on the river. We asked for an outside table, it was a beautiful evening. 'The deer flies are biting' said the server helpfully. We sat outside anyway, and they certainly were biting, nobody else, just me, so I have these great weals all over my legs and the discomfort is driving me mad. I will never look at Bambi in the same way again.............. I have Benadryl, Clarityn, and an aloe cream, if anybody has a magic cure for bites, let me know.
We have been here for six weeks now. You would think that I would be used to the steering wheel being on the 'wrong' side of the car by now. Not a bit of it, every day, I walk confidently to the passenger door, peer in through the window, realize my mistake and slink around to the drivers side. If someone is sitting in the next car in a parking lot, I nonchalantly try to make it look as if I did it on purpose, open the passenger door and deposit my bag on the seat before walking round to the drivers side. They must think I am crazy, I mean, how many women open the door for their handbags. The daft thing is, I will just have got the hang of it when it is time to go back to the UK, and the whole saga will start all over again............the confident walk to the wrong side of the car.
Love the card and the sentiment is perfect! You make me laugh with your confident walk to the wrong side of the car!

Love the card Enfys. Perfect sentiment too. I can just imagine you with the confident look. Have a great weekend and I did hear somewhere vinegar is good for bites but haven't tried it!
ReplyDeleteMarion
The texture you get with the fabric is just gorgeous, loving these images. Don't know how you can ever get used to the wrong side, wrong side, that says it all lol. Only tip I have for bites is bite back lol, hope it calms down soon.
ReplyDeletePinky
What a gorgeous card Enfys.

Great and funny card you made...

Love this card Enfys!!! I hope my fabric cards will look as lovely as yours! Aveeno oatmeal bath might help the bites. We are having a situation here as well, my Husband was bitten by something on his back in a circular pattern about 3" wide x 4" long. They are healing, but now he has welts along his side, and other areas. He took 50mg of benedryl at 2am this morning..I expect to maybe see him around noon today. I hope whatever you use helps!!! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your car story, but then again, I always laugh with you about your situations, and if you show a determination that putting your purse in your passenger side door, well then..no one will ever know! LOL Have I ever told you how much I love the word "daft."
To my fav continental friend,
Lisa :)
PS..oh and Murray being so graceful like me, managed to run into a pot hole in a parking lot, sprained her ankle, it's mild, so we are hoping that by this Wednesday it will be OK enough to walk for graduation. (shaking my head) She may have her Dad's last name, but she is Sass all the way.
I love your fabric-image cards and this one is really cute - great bright colors. I got a chuckle out of your car story - got a picture of it in my head too! Hugs...Kris ps - sorry, no bite remedies!
ReplyDeleteEnfys,
ReplyDeleteThanks again for another great girly card. I love these cards. I love you stories as always. You are so crazy. I can't wait to have my coffee and enjoy these stories.
Your Kentucky friend. Keep up the great work and the greater stories.
Love, love, love it En! It's always a treat to see what you do with these ladies!
ReplyDeleteI understand the whole wrong side thing! When we lived in Japan, it took me forever and a few very near misses to remember which way to look when I crossed the street.
hugs, eileen
I don't think we could ever tire of these funny little figures and your great sentiments lol. Plus I love your little stories about your daily rituals. Oh and by the way isn't bicarb supposed to be good for bites I'm sure thats what my mum used to make into a paste and put on me when I got bitten, although it doesn't look very attractive.

Thanks for the chuckle! I almost always have a good giggle when I come to your site! When I first found your site, I wondered if it was a problem for you to adjust to a new country every few months. It would be for me. But I'd bite the bullet and do it any way! lol
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric cards. The only fabric I've handled in the past 10 years is the pocket's of Don's jeans to repair the holes. And about a month ago I made a cover for my cricut! And I did them both by hand. I don't like sewing machines, and they don't like me either! Thanks again!
As usual your Lorelie ladies are adorable. Your story is precious. Don't worry, I put my purse in the passenger side a lot of times. If all else fails try vinegar. It seems to be the miracle cure.
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave today [22 May 02:00pm GMT]. Thanks, Maria
ReplyDeleteI smiled as soon as I saw this card, it's just too cute. As well as your story. hugs
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cute card. I'm still laughing about you getting into the wrong side of hte car. Come over and see my blog makeover. I'm still not sure I like it. It's a work in progress.

For those bites, try dabbing vinegar on with a cotton ball, it may help the itching to stop.
ReplyDeleteLove the card!
Am I glad I found your blog! You are a very talented and funny lady - thanks for making me smile. Love your cards, they're fun, different and inspiring. Katina x
ReplyDeleteThe she golfer is so sassy, love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, Enfys! I love that lady golfer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh about your confident walk to the wrong side of the car. You paint a vivid word picture.
This is just so so adorable!! She looks like she has your confidence!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh En, I just love your posts! You poor thing getting chewed up by the pests. How dare they! Hope you recover soon! Love the card by the way! LOL Pam
ReplyDeleteThis card is just tooo adorable my friend!! The texture & everything about this card is just PERFECT! TFS!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Emma;)
Cute card. I always get bitten by whatever insect is around when noone else does too. I keep a cream called Ivarest. It is really a poison ivy itch relief cream but it is wonderful on insect bites too. It is rather thick like Diaper rash cream but it only takes a small bit to work. I have found it at Walgreens and sometimes at WaL-mart.
ReplyDeleteLove the card....how do you get your stamped images cut out so beautifully?
ReplyDeleteI love the wrong side of the car...I never drove when I was in the UK but it would confuse me so badly when I would cross the road and look the wrong direction for coming cars!
Hi En,
ReplyDeleteWell, I've been tittering away here reading about your days at Dunkin' Donuts...loved the Ukraine story, and what can I say about the girl who thought you were from overseas.
Yes we'll definitly meet up when you're back, we'll go for a coffee, but if I need to go to the bank you can wait outside...it may get held up if you come in with me, lol.
Cards are fab as always, wish I was as creative and imaginative as you.
x
Hi Enfys, wow youve put a hell of a lot of work into that card, its fabulous. Hope you soon feel better from your bites, Ive got a nasty one on my knee. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx
ReplyDeleteEnfys,
ReplyDeleteI love this card as usual. You know me and these girly cards. I have so many female red hat ladies that this would be so great. Let me know about the cards.
