First, I found a base card that I had covered with die cut happy birthday words over and over again - I wanted to see if it would give a faux embossed sort of look, I tried it, liked it, but never did anything with it until now.....
Next, I found some roses left over from a Fiskars project - I made the roses using the XL Daisy squeeze punch, and the leaves were cut using the Petals punch......
I added a MFT stitched circle, and here is the finished card....
This one will definitely be a card for one of those 'meeting up with the girls for a birthday lunch' sort of day - those roses would need a box all of their own to go in the mail
Talking of mail, I ordered the stitched circle dies that I used in todays card from Blitzy in the USA
See you tomorrow x
Love this card Enfys. The die cut Happy Birthday looks amazing ... in fact, I think it looks better than embossing. That had to take ages to adhere all those words onto the face of that card. The roses are beautiful too. Sorry about the mess-up with your stitched circle dies. I've had enough online order mess-ups to completely understand how you feel. They say there are no mistakes, only "opportunities" ... so I will look forward to seeing a shaker card soon (or, whenever you get the "opportunity". *wink*
ReplyDeleteI love this card Enfys. Good thing you had all those items already made up. It seems I can never find the "already made items" when I need them. The card is beautiful. I like those stitched dies a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really beautiful card Enfys,
ReplyDeleteLove how you made the background, and those roses are stunning xx
As always, such a beautiful card! I am going to have to try working with this technique, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fab idea for a background and the roses are so beautiful - a really lovely card
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, there is so much detail you put into the design! Sorry to hear about your dies not turning out as you expected, that is very disappointing. Hope you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteOh wow Enfys, just lovely !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about the dies, but I;m sure you will come up with another creative master piece....
hugs Diane xx
Luv Luv this card!!! it's beautiful!! ..and the flowers are fabulous!! would you please show a pic of the flower punch you used.....Thank you
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Enfys - lol about the dies!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys. P&P is a bug-bare of mine so yes, it is very frustrating when you see that something has been packaged excessively. Hope you get lots of use out of your dies even though they are not what you thought they were.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Such a pretty card Enfys.I know what you mean about the packaging, it's so wasteful and bumps up the postage costs. Ooops re the wrong dies hope you get some use out of them they may even be one of those happy accidents? x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card with gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, love those flowers!
ReplyDeleteHugs Donna xx
I can't imagine how the post office managed to get Chicago out of a UK address? Maybe the post code you use was close to the zip code we use? Well you got them even if you did have to call. We just got a box that should have been an envelope too. This was a replacement, so we didn't have to pay the postage. I hope they didn't make you pay for their mistake. Hugs,Jess
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Enfys, love the effect though not sure I would have the patience to stick all those down. The flowers are a gorgeous shade of pink. I know that feeling about the large package small contents. I think its actually cheaper for them to post a package than it is a flat envelope for some reason. Love the dies though.
