I stamped the snowman twice, once direct onto the card base, then onto a scrap of white cardstock, which I cut out without the twiggy arms. The colouring was really simple to do, and I popped the cut out body over the stamped base. It just needed something down the side to finish it, so I used a dot border stamp by Papertrey Ink, those little dots and the snowman's hat and scarf have been coated with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen....
How many of you are going to do a bit of retail therapy today? Black Friday seems to have mysteriously made it's way across the Atlantic, of course we don't have Thanksgiving here, but we do like an excuse to shop. The sales have a long way to go before they catch up with the USA of course - how I loved Black Friday. I even bought a couple of mysterious items in plain cardboard boxes in Macy's because they were 'door busters' and people were knocking each other over to get them, so even though I had no clue what I was buying, I had to have them. (In case you are wondering, the boxes contained very expensive saucepans and saute pans that I bought for some ridiculously low price. I didn't need them, but I loved them!)
Thanks for all the get well wishes, I feel a lot better today, there is a hint of a spring in my step and I may even get dressed! See you tomorrow x
Love the blueprint card and it's nice to know you're feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteIt's odd how US traditions are making their way over...halloween, black friday, will we be celebrating July 4th next!!!? We should trade - they can have Boxing Day ;)
That dotted border was the perfect final touch. Great card. I may join the shopping crowds for a wee bit tomorrow, but I'll probably only go to Michael's and Joann's to see what crafting supplies they're selling as door busters.
ReplyDeleteI bought this stamp and matching dies at the NEC and love it. Fab card. You made me smile over your mystery purchase. Good to see you are on the mend, take care xx
ReplyDeleteVery cute card. Glad you're feeling better. I have never gone out to shop on black Friday. Too crazy for me! I have shopped online, for some ridiculously low priced gifts. The only time I've gone out on black Friday was when my youngest grandson was born! I can't believe he's 3 already! Cute little rascal. Hugs, Jess

I couldn't stand not going to Black Friday this year, so after sitting around staring at my computer until around 10:30 I hopped in the car and hit some stores. Ahhhh now I feel better. I spent some money on things I really didn't need, but they were on sale!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better. Have fun babysitting the little guys. Hope they don't wear you out too much.
I really like your card! I'm not fond of the blueprint stamps tho. I just don't understand them.
ReplyDeleteHappy you're better!
