My idea was to use the alphabet stamps J O Y all tumbled around the bare tree to look like leaves/ornaments. I pressed versamark through the stencil and heat embossed in white, then I used a Versamark pen to add more ink to just parts of the tree which I sprinkled with silver embossing powder and melted that. The letters were also stamped and heat embossed in white. I dotted some silver embossed stars about. the strips down the side are also silver - they caught the light and look gold in the photo. Sentiment is by Hero Arts
This next one uses a technique that turned out a lot better than I thought - the outline stamp has been carefully sprinkled with different colours of embossing powders and heated. The sentiment, also by Hero Arts is Rangers lovely Queens Gold embossing powder which doesn't gleam in the photo as it does in real life. I tried a very clever paper pleating technique that Jennifer McGuire taught, but it was a fail (I am so bad at following instructions! Impatient is my middle name....), so I covered up my mistake with organza ribbon. Definitely one to try again though.......
Beautiful...I have learned so much from you in all areas of cardmaking....Now, I have purchased a Brother Scan n Cut and have learned more from you, such as how to calibrate it. I really appreciate you ..Thanks so much Enfy's...God bless , Smoochie grandma

Great cards, Enfys. I like your joy tree. I don't have any colourful embossing powders like Jennifer, but for some reason I bought a glue pad a long time ago, and I found an amazing supply of rather fine glitter at a bargain store in Heraklion (6 shades of colour for only 1 euro, in 6 variaeties; the only colour that seems to be missing is yellow). I think it would be fun to try the same technique with my glitter...
ReplyDeleteHow clever! I must have a go at using different coloured embossing powder - never thought of that. Pat x
ReplyDeleteSo creative and the results are stunning x

Interesting, I have some alphabet dies that I plan on using again as soon a we get into our own place. Said dies are packed in a box, heaven knows where. Everything is in one place. But even as hard as I tried to mark the boxes, they still ended up all over the place. Lol great cards En. TFS, hugs Jess
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Enfys! hugs, Helena
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards!!! I definitely want a video on how you did the J O Y card...and the different color embossing powders...Boy are you just moving along ...hope I don't get lost following you..... lol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards ... and great stamping techniques too. I especially like the stamped image with multiple colors ... it is such an interesting (and very eye-appealing) look. I never would have guessed how many different stamping possibilities there are ... see what a little imagination and creativity can do.
