We once lived in a lovely Georgian house in a Yorkshire village, one of the rooms had a fireplace with original delft tiles. How I loved that fireplace - if I could have taken it with me when we moved, I would have done. So for this card, I wanted to just simply recreate the look of the tiles - you get the central image, which I just stamped in Stormy Sky distress ink, no shading, the lovely little corner stamps and a crackle stamp.....
I stamped the crackles with antique linen distress ink
and here is a photo of an original tile......I think the stamp set does a pretty good job, don't you?
I continue with my quest to become the next Stephen Spielberg....I have now learnt how to download a video clip to my computer, that is where I am stuck. I am 'test driving' various free video editing software, and frankly, I'm not getting anywhere very fast. I would quite like to be able to clip out unusable bits, and do a voice over rather than having to work and talk at the same time, that way I could just concentrate on what I am doing then talk through it afterwards. There must be a video editing programme for dummies out there somewhere. Any suggestions anyone?
See you tomorrow x
Love the look you created. It looks just like a tile. Great Job. Sorry can't help with the computer software program.
ReplyDeleteLove the Delft tile look. I wish I could help you with the video. I'll be very interested to see if you get some usable advice here. I'd like to be able to share videos, too, but I haven't a clue where to start when it comes to editing them.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job on your "tile" card. Very pretty, wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteAs for the video stuff. well I'm no help there, don't know a thing about videos except how to watch them. Sorry.
Great tiles and I agree that the fireplace must have been hard to leave behind. The video process sounds pretty daunting..have your looked on line....there is usually someone out there who has made a video of how to do anything...my hubby wanted to cut his own hair with clippers and yes found a fab video...just type your question into a search engine like Google xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys - the tile effect is lovely.
ReplyDelete'Videos' - sorry, wouldn't have a clue...that is way beyond my basic PC skills LOL

Very effective card Enfys. Hope you get some help on the video question but I'm afraid it won't be from me! Pat x
ReplyDeleteLove the delft tile card. Really lovely. Sorry, no help on the video front. I am technically challenged myself. Good luck and looking forward to seeing your first Oscar winner
ReplyDeleteI really love this card. You did a wonderful job recreating the crackle effect. I wish I could help you with your video, I am also very technically challenged. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look to your card and yes I do think you captured the Delft look perfectly!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the video question I wonder if you could create and edit the video in Photoshop. I took a class on Photoshop and there was a way to edit videos, but that was several years ago. I would guess that Photoshop has probably improved this feature. I would ask some of your contacts who post videos what type of software they use.
Good luck!
The tile stamp is so pretty. Really portrays the original tile nicely.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely x
ReplyDeleteLovely card Enfys, I also bought these stamps so it's great to see a finished project using them :)
ReplyDeleteLovely card, I also bought these stamps will have to play angxx
ReplyDeleteLove the stamp looks a lot like the real thing
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Enfys. Certainly does capture the delft tile feel. Sorry, but cant help with the video software. Hope you get sorted though.

Good luck with the cards! It always gives me a buzz to see my artwork reproduced. The original tiles are in Bantock House Museum, Wolverhampton
