Today I made a simple tulip card for the Letraset blog. Go HERE to see it, leave a comment and on Sunday I will pick a random name from the comments left to win a set of the Winter Limited Edition Promarkers. The winner will be announced on Monday next week, so a nice early Christmas present for someone
There are some great sales on at the Letraset site this week as well, go HERE to see - if you are from the US, change the currency to US $ before you start, then click on special offers - they are selling a lot of sets at 50% off, and it's a good way to start if you don't have the $$ with Christmas coming up to buy loads of markers. Free shipping too if you spend over $30
So here are my tulips, the card is over on the blog......
and I promised to share with you why I am more hectic, frazzled and tired than usual in my busy life. We decided earlier this year that we would put our Florida house on the market, not an easy decision, but a lot of valid reasons for making that decision. So with a bit of sadness, we put it on the market, expecting it to take months in a sluggish market.
It was sold in less than a week!
So although it has been sold furnished, obviously there are a lot of belongings that need to be taken back to the UK - clothes and crafts being two of them. So life is a whirlwind of sorting, clearing, packing, filling out customs forms......HELP!
Huge hampers of clothes have gone to a charity supporting homeless people, I have been 'Ebaying' like crazy - where did it all come from?!
Yes, we will come back to Florida, we have many good friends here, although I am going to start nagging them to get their passports in order so that they can come over to see us for a change. End of an era. Sigh. Expect some melancholy from me over the next few days - we leave here in 2 1/2 weeks
Wow! That is amazing that your house sold so quickly. I am sure you have lots to do in the next couple of weeks. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card good luck in your new home Ginny x
ReplyDeleteI've moved 14 times since I married my hubby - he worked for an oil company, but never sold a house including the furniture. You must have so many mixed emotions, Enfys!! I'll go check ebay and see what you got for sale; I hope it's some crafty stuff.
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job on your card with those purple tulips! Thanks for the chance!
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sale of your FL house. Sorry to see you leave, but I'm sure you'll be back often to visit. I'm hoping to start traveling next year (before I get to old to travel). If I plan a trip to the UK, I'll give you a heads up and perhaps we can go for a spot of tea. :)

Hope you manage to get everything organised and have a good trip back to the UK just in time for christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgous card, I love the colouring and the tip about the pearls xx
Wow! I was wondering what happened when you hadn't posted anything for a week!! I'm so happy for you that it sold so quickly...others have not been so lucky! Feel bad for you that the emptying & craziness has begun. I don't know how in the world you managed to post the last few cards! And they're as beautiful as every!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Isn't that a surprise? And what a big job that is. Moving is not on my lists of things I like to do and I can't imagine moving across the pond! Big job, but I'm glad we'll still be hearing from you, that won't change and that is a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteOh the US is loosing two good friends. Moving is so hard even if it is a summer home. But keeping two homes is just too much.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that it sold so fast.
Love the cards and good luck on the move. I will be sending you prayers and blessings.
lovely card, good luck with the move back, what about the stories from dunkin donuts, you are going to have find somewhere else angxxxx
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card. Good luck with your move. I just read that petting a dog can lower your blood pressure. You might want to keep that in mind!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
America will be all the poorer, Enfys, when you are not here on a regular basis. I will also miss your Dunkin' Donut stories.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm in shock! I don't handle change very well, so it would be hard for me to do what you are doing. I am going to miss your Dunkin Donut stories. Thank goodness for the internet so we can still be cyber friends. God bless you and guide you safely back to England. Now you will get to see your grandchildren all year instead of every three months. Hugs and smiles, Mary Ann
ReplyDeleteOh wow Enfys, Selling your house in such a short time good luck where ever you go and hopefully settle pretty quickly so we can see your gorgeous creations again x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tulips :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys, I love the colors of the tulips!!
ReplyDeleteglad that your house sold for you. That was fast!!
But I have to say that I don't envy you having to pack all that you are taking back home with you. I have only moved once since I was married in 1969. After we bought this house 30 years ago I knew this is where I wanted to be for the rest of my life.
The states won't ever be the same! I'll get my passport in order!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will still have many funny stories to share with us but I had always sort of dreamed of running into you when I happened to be in Florida. I know that you will enjoy being closer to your grandbabies. I suffer from withdrawal if I don't see mine every day.
ReplyDeleteAmazing you sold the house so fast. Your card is great ! I wish I could afford to get markers. Oh well maybe one day. I'll just enjoy looking at your Great work for now !

Tulips have been my favorite since I was a little girl. That is fantastic that you were able to sell your home so quickly. Good luck on the move. It is always a lot of work especially when you collect a lot of craft items. I know, we moved this year and hope this is the last time.
ReplyDeletePretty tulips, glad that you were able to sell your home so quickly. Sorry that its going to be quite hectic for you for the next few weeks.

Wow, it's amazing that your house sold so quickly in these financially difficult times. Friends of mine in the Netherlands have been trying to sell their house for over 2 years now, but without any viewers chances are very slight the house will sell any time soon. Good luck arranging everything.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips!!!!
