Here's a couple more quick cards I made using Craftwork Cards Sweet Pea collection. I cut an aperture in the first one with a nestability, and a frame to go around it out of the patterned and embossed cardstock. The flowers are diecuts from the collection.....
Nothing could be simpler than this next one - strips of paper cut into banner shapes, with one of the sentiments mounted onto an embossed square
I have a huge task ahead - the garage here needs to be painted, and it's where I keep all my stuff and desk. Estimated time to clear the space, three days, estimated time to paint, three hours. It will be a chance for me to have a good clear-out and reorganize stuff, so if anyone has some brilliant storage ideas, let me know. The bane of my life is ribbon....
Beautiful cards Enfys - I love blues & browns as a colour combo so these really 'hit the spot'.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the clear-out.
Ribbons? Reels normally thread quite nicely onto a length of curtain wire which can be stretched across just below a shelf so they can be easily seen. Lengths can be looped onto a wire ring (depending on how much you have you could use a couple of wire coat hangers. If you don't want to get rid of 'bits', why not sort into rough colour groups and pop into self-seal poly bags - they can also be hung using a large book ring.
Have fun

Great idea for a quick card Enfys and the first one is really lovely. Pat x
ReplyDeleteEspecially since you are in a garage type setting, leaving the ribbons out and hanging is probably not the best choice due to dust. I found that the loose pieces roll up well into those 99 cent floss organizers - one box per color family - and you can easily see each ribbon through the clear box. Depending on the width of the ribbon, some of the cubbies hold more than one piece. The rolls go easily into shallow plastic bins - again by color family - standing up so you can see all of them at once.
ReplyDeleteVery cute cards. Good luck with the paint project. Ribbon, I roll mine on clothes pegs, and store them in clear plastic jars. But if you have a lot, I'd make drawer space (the size of the biggest rolls)and put them in the drawer. I have a large 3 drawer plastic set I got from Walmart. The drawers are big. I keep my stamps and jewelry making stuff in them. But they'd hold a whole lot of ribbon rolls. Hope this helps, Hugs, Jess
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with with cleaning and organizing...check out my last blog post on how I did my ribbon... it took one whole day (of sitting and catching up on my DVR'd shows) of wrapping ribbon BUT I love it now!!!

gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous...good luck with the clearance...big hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, I have no Craftwork card kits but think I must have a look at some cause they look so cool. Happy sorting! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat cards love the embossing and the layouts. I hang some ribbons on a wire rack on my wall, others I keep on vertical rods. I had my dh make them from 2 inch wide pine wood that he drilled holes in and glued in small craft dowels (10 in a pack at JoAnns for 1.50) I have a pic on one of my first blog posts (wish my room was still that neat) You can look here if you like, it holds 60-100 rolls in a 2"x20" desk area. http://1cardcreator.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-craft-room.html
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys. Especially like the second one, quite simple but so effective.
ReplyDeleteIf you get any good ideas or brainwaves about storing ribbons just let me know lol.

Really great cards. I'm lovin' the pastels lately. As far as ribbon...I've tried several things. What I finally did was sort them by color (colour), secure them with paper clips or binder clips and put them into zip lock baggies. It's working so far.
ReplyDeletewow wonderful cards!!!! love the colors chosen.
ReplyDeleteLove both the cards. The color combo is wonderful! As for the ribbon dilema, can't help you there as mine are not in any kind of order, except for the small pieces which are all in a jar that I can dump out and paw through when I need a scrap. Let us know if you figure out what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Enfys, I love the colors of these cards, so soft. If I was close to you I would go help you move everything and paint... I have many glass jars for all my ribbons, I sort them by color. I bought the jars at the Dollar store. Good luck with your project.
