Here's a Heartfelt Creations card made for Papercraft Inspirations magazine. The sentiment is one from a acrylic set by Fiskars. I love these Heartfelt Creation stamps, they come with a matching Spellbinders die, so you stamp the flowers, then cut them out using the die. Clever. The leaves are a Hero Arts stamp
I put tiny black seed beads in the centres of the flowers, which don't really show up on the photos
Do you ever look at sentiment stamps and wonder 'who on earth would I send that to.....' I particularly dislike the hectoring ones, that sound as if you are being a very bossy self-righteous school monitor, telling folks how to live their lives. 'Live life to the fullest' 'Do a good deed every day and your kindness will pay you back' ......and so on. I also have a bit of a hate thing going for sickly sweet sentiments, although I know a lot of people love them. Talking of which, who on earth is Garson Kanin, who wrote the quote on today's card? Anyone know?
Time for this particular work of art to get a move on and do some chores.... see you tomorrow
Hiya Enfys,

Enfys:
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! Garson Kanin was an American playwright and director. He and his wife, actress Ruth Gordon, wrote/directed the movie "Adam's Rib", a great Tracy/Hepburn movie -- I am NOT THAT SMART - I just Googled this info! LOL!
TFS,
jackie
Garson Kanin was an american writer and director...a man of the world obviously lol. Totally agree, you need to be careful what you send to certain people. I love your card, those dots are just gorgeous.

Love the card looks fab with the embossed background too! I think that sentiment must have been written by some old wrinkly person who was green with enyv when she saw young people, oh who knows!

Marlene said: Such soft colors on this card. The flowers pop right out. Can't beat pink and black. Super job.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card. I do hope to get those flower stamps and dies.
ReplyDeleteAs for Garson Kanin, he was on talk shows often when I was a teen and I remember seeing him and often also his actress wife Ruth Gordon(on Merv Griffin show in the US). He was so funny and it was very interesting to hear his stories about early Broadway and the movie industry.
Your card is so beautiful Enfys. I had no idea who Garson Kanin was until I read your bloggers. The card is more important to me than the quote anyway. Is that shame on me?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! Really pretty! I agree with the sentiments. I don't care for my cards to be too bossy! he he he!

Gorgeous card Enfys. Just love everything about it. It caught my eye instantly. Love the flowers with the seed beads, even though I can't see exactly what you are referring to as seed beads. Love the color and what a perfect sentiment. After reading some of the comments, I now know who Garson Kanin is/was. Thanks.

Super sweet card. I agree with you on the sentiment stamps. Angel Company has one that says "A wish is a dream your heart makes. Tinkerbelle" I happen to be a Disney movie watcher and it was Cinderella that sang that phrase. Sheesh! Who are they kidding?
