Tilda on a log..............

I don't often use Magnolia stamps, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Tilda. This one is okay because it doesn't set me off thinking 'oh no, no mouth'. Did you know that the idea behind them is that they are all angels, and angels speak with their hearts not with their mouths?
Sounds a bit fanciful to me!
Anyway, here she is perched on a log (not sure who made this stamp, the image was given to me.) The base card and sentiment button is by Craftwork Cards , and the papers are My Minds Eye

I do love the way the artist puts them in the funkiest clothes though
I have been having a clear-out in view of the imminent arrival of the new carpet. So loads of books and old DVD's and VHS tapes are all sorted out ready to go to the charity shop. Then I got to sorting out old photographs - boy, was that a walk down memory lane. By the time I had discarded views of places I couldn't remember visiting, anonymous babies who refused to be identified, people smiling happily for me when I haven't a clue who they are, two great carrier bags had been decanted into one neat little box. very satisfying. I tell you what I did find lurking, two of the earliest cards I ever made. They are truly terrible, I can't believe I made them, and you won't either when you see them - yes, I will take photos, I can take ridicule.

  4. Very cute card! I'm sure the old cards aren't as bad as you think they are. We do tend to be our own worst critics! Would love to see them though.

  5. So that's why they don't have mouths?? Always wondered about that. I know exactly what you mean about them, that's how I feel too. Can't wait to see the "early" cards. Bet they aren't 1/2 as bad as you think! I'm trying to play catch up having been away.

  7. I agree about the mouths, I do find them a bit odd, but love the way you've coloured this one. I was only saying last night about the very first card I made a year ago and now I don't know how I had the nerve to give it to someone! I've learned so much since then. Would love to see yours though (I bet it's brill!)

  9. Lovely card Enfys, I am into the Magnolia's myself but it's always the 1st thing my husband says, they have no mouth. I always reply to him I can't understand the problem, at least they keep quiet LOL!! To me its a matter of filling in the facial expression yourself depending on the figure. Anyway, you turned her into a lovely card. Hugs, Frea

  14. Oh, Enfys, you are so brave! I can barely even look at the first cards I made, and I blush with embarrassment when I think that I actually sent them to people!!! You are so talented and your cards are so beautiful. Maybe there's hope for even me. :) Now, back to practicing my card-making skills - or lack thereof.

  16. Great card, Enfys. I love the edge you added. I still don't understand the mouth thing. How do the angels say "Fear not!" then? Or sing? I would thing the Bible would have mentioned that in the description. You wouldn't notice that as they approached ;- ) Thanks for sharing you talents, as always!

  24. I really don't care for Tilda's, the lack of a mouth really puts me off. However I see many around blogland that I think are beautiful.
This card is lovely and beautifully coloured and I really can't imagine your first cards to be that bad. Perhaps we should all dig out our first cards and we could all have a good laugh at each other!!
