Well, I promised to show you my very first cards. A lot of you have made comments like 'I bet they aren't bad at all'
Well they are!
I had obviously discovered eyelets in this one, and for some reason put one in the middle of those punched butterflies. What's with the background? I haven't a clue, I just had one stamp and some hideous pink ink and stamped it over and over and over. As for the tag....... I promise you, it looks even worse in real life
For some reason I can't upload the other one - believe me, you are not missing anything. A wonky balloon and some wonky glitter pen handwriting
Here's a couple of Cricut cards that I made for the lovely Mandy from Scrappy-go-lucky. She sent me the Formal Occasions cartridge and I came up with these 'scene' cards. I was really happy with this first one
I found this metal thingy, ages ago, on a sort of green ribbon, in Big Lots I think. I have had it lurking around ever since, I knew it would come in handy one day
This next one would be good for someone going to a prom or special party. I dotted silver rhinestone brads around on the black, they look a bit like spotlights
So there you go, the good (well, not bad), the bad and the ugly, all in one post.
Don't forget it's Polkadoodles challenge day today - Christmas in July is the theme. Because of holidays etc I am still not back in the swing yet, I need to catch up.
Have a great weekend. I'll be back on Sunday (if not before) with the winners of the giveaway
Thanks for my laugh, Enfys! I still say that in the ugly first cards race you're not out in front! Not to mention you've still got it...you didn't inflict it on anyone else! Let's just say that we've all gotten better, and continue to do so. LOL I'm not going to go looking for any of my first's...don't think I could stand the pain!

Oh my gosh! You made me giggle this morning! How I remember my first cards and thinking how good they looked! Now we use so many mediums, Cricuts, colors, embossers and on and on that we can whip a card or scrap page out in no time flat in comparison!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing - the only photos I have are the snapshots in my noodle!
Blessings for a great weekend!

Thanks for the laugh this morning.... Your dude card is so adorable. Keep it up I just started doing cards myself it's just like doing LO's only with smaller paper. You'll get the hang of it and your not off to a bad start...nenerscreations.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh Enfys, your still looks better than my first, ha ha, you made me think about it now I'm really ROTFL! Love your scene cards. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI see some of my old cards and cringe, too. Nice to know we can improve!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Enfys. You started out making your own background paper and even thought to stamp off of the page. Pretty advanced for a beginner, I'd say ;- ) Have a great weekend. Oh, love those little scene cards, too!
ReplyDeleteLook at far you have come Enfys!
ReplyDeleteLove the 2 Cricut cards you made,
they are terrific!

Well, let's see how can I say this? You sure have improved in your technique, layout and your eye in general. Just look at the other cards that you have posted there. They are wonderful. Gotta know where we came from to know where we are now.
ReplyDeleteWell you gave me a giggle to see that first one. It is strange to look back and wonder what your trail of thought was at the time of making said items lol. Love the other two though, they are both really lovely.

I'm so glad to see your early card. Yep, it's pretty bad when you set it next to how beautiful your cards are today. There's hope for me yet!
