Isn't this image adorable? Her name is Connie, and she is available either as a stamp, or as a download from Sugar Nellie (I used the download)
I let the image speak for itself on this card, and kept it quite simple. Papers are Cottontail, flowers made with card candi, and the tiny sentiment - all by CraftworkCards
Skin Ivory and blush
Eyes Powder blue
Hair Ivory, buttercup and mustard
Jeans Pastel blue and denim blue
Top Cocktail pink and sunkissed pink
I have been busy making a card for James, my eldest son, who has just landed a new job - congrats James xx. I do love making personalised cards, especially for my nearest and dearest, I don't know that my boys appreciate them as much as their wives do though. The last one I sent to Edward, lovingly crafted and geared to one of his hobbies was totally unsigned, no message, nothing. I had been so busy making the card I forgot about that little detail. 'with love from mum would have been nice' he said 'I am heavily into recycling and saving the planet' I lied 'it's blank so that you can use it again' He didn't believe me of course, they know me so well. I can imagine the conversation between the boys 'the old girls losing it, forgot to sign my birthday card..........'
She is just gorgeous, beautifully coloured, love this card Enfys. Had to laugh at your story. We woman are all so alike lol. But that was a great excuse lol.
ReplyDeleteGREAT IMAGE! Love how you allowed her to be the center of attention! :)
ReplyDeleteFunny thing... my 3 daughters are more critical of my cards, but my son (the baby of them all) LOVES my cards! He's one of my biggest fans and I always enjoy making cards for him. The girls, not so much! LOL!
Gorgeous card, that stamp is adorable, love how you colored it in!
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing! You have colored her so beautifully. She looks real!
ReplyDeleteLoved your story, Enfys. I think your story about recycling proves what a quick mind you have, lol.

Beautifully coloured Enfys and a lovely stamp. I did the same thing with a stair step Halloween card to my daughter. I told her I didn't want to distract from the design. LOL She didn't buy my excuse.
ReplyDeleteEnfys, I think this is the most gorgeous face I've ever seen on a stamp or digi. You colored her beautifully. Not kidding, her face is totally mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful card! Love that stamp and how you colored her in. The flowers were really cute too, especially with the card candy and the beads - great idea!
ReplyDelete"Connie" is beautiful! I love the image, reminding me of my own beautiful daughter of the same name! Just gorgeous - you are so creative, Enfys!

ReplyDeleteYour coloring is awesome! Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful image and card! Great job coloring it!
ReplyDeleteGuys are like that with cards aren't they? They just don't generally appreciate them as much as women do. I have to qualify that and say, most of the time. Don't want to insult anyone.
As for not signing the card. I just posted one on my blog that was actually the first card I made and sent to a friend thanking her for her friendship and hospitality and I never signed it. It went to her with a chocolate gift basket and she wasn't sure who had sent it since she had a few guests in the weeks prior. So when I called to be sure she got it, I found out I hadn't signed the card. DUH!!!! Guess I just didn't want to ruin the look!
Connie is so sweet. You've done a great job with her, like how you let her be the center of attention and kept the rest of the card simple. Laughed at your story. So glad I'm not the only one who's done that!
