Here's another peek at a Papercraft Inspirations Magazine card. The brief was a male card with a drink theme............ so I got Mike to drink his way through a six pack (he moaned and groaned about this assignment, but did it for the sake of art :) - and saved the ring pulls
Circles cut at 2 1/2" using George cartridge and Cricut machine

I met a friend for coffee, it was nice enough to sit outside in the town square. Our girly chat was interrupted by a pigeon with only one foot. She was hopping along quite happily, foraging for crumbs on the ground. By the size of her, she was quite accomplished at this. Anne however was quite overcome by this sight. 'I can't bear it' she cried, almost sobbing into her latte 'she won't be able to perch, she'll fall out of the tree'. Well frankly, looking at Miss Hopalong, she was more likely to fall out of the tree because the branch would break under her weight than because of her disability. I was a bit worried that Anne was about to make an emergency call to a vet, so I diverted her with the news that Marks and Spencer were having a mid season sale.............that did the trick.

ReplyDeleteLOLOLOL you always make me chuckle! I really can't imagine how a one legged bird could perch, but may said bird has learned to liv on the ground!
ReplyDeleteI love the card idea, I might just have to do something similar for my son's birthday card. He will appreciate Mike's sacrafice for all man-kind!
I'm off to Michaels today or tomorrow to see if they have the latest issue of the mag. Thanks for sharing,

So if anyone still doesn't understand the difference between a creative mind and the rest of us all they have to do is read your blog! Your take on the world is a gift!
ReplyDeleteEnfys,
ReplyDeleteGreat card as usual. Such a cute idea with the beer tabs. Let me know when you get back to the states. I cannot find that fabric for the Lorilee... I love those cards...
Hilarious En! Definitely a card to lift! LOL The birds at the grill we often lunch at ALL hop around on one leg hoping for sympathy and a morsel thrown their way. Once you've thrown one down, out pops the other leg so they can snatch it up. I don't fall for that crap any more. xxD
ReplyDeleteThis is just so creative, you come up with the best ideas,
ReplyDeletethis is soooo cute, I know what my
ReplyDeleteBIL is now getting for his BD
this is a sure winner!

This is a great card Enfys. I
ReplyDeletecan sympathize with with your friend. You did her a great favor
by distracting her. I had a great
time shopping at Marks and Spencer
when I visited over 20 yrs ago. :D

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun card Enfys! Such a clever idea!
ReplyDeletelol! oh that poor plump pigeon! Soon forgotten by a sale in every girls favourite shop!?!
Keryn x
I called my husband over to see your card and read the story, complete story! First of all, this is the best card ever with a lot of meaning! We normally do not drink beer as our first choice and your story is just so funny it tickled us both. Yet the story of your bird and how you saved your friend is fabulous. Good for you and diverting her to a good cause, shopping!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to copy your card one day and send it off to our beer friends. How to get the tops are going to be a challenge, soda! We will do it with soda but pretend it is beer!!! Thanks! I can't use wine corks it would be to lumpy for mailing, LOL.
Thanks so much for sharing and making us laugh.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs!
WOW Enfys such a task for Mike to go though lol but the results are perfect for this card.
ReplyDeleteHugs Linda
