I found this clear stamp sitting around that I had totally forgotten about, so spent a happy hour colouring it with ProMarkers. It's a huge stamp, so no room to do anything other than mat the image with red, glitter the snow, and add a sentiment by Craftwork Cards. I have learnt that in the US, the Cardinal is the bird associated with Christmas and the Robin heralds Spring. For USA friends, we don't have Cardinals in the UK, but a lot of little Robins hopping around, so you will see them on UK Christmas cards
Don't forget, scroll down to leave a comment to win the colouring tutorial CD, and of course the Promarkers
I am busy working on Easter cards! Magazine work is a funny old world, Christmas in July, tick, New Year cards, tick...........now on to the bunnies and Easter eggs. I am often asked how I go about doing commissions. The magazines are quite specific about what they want, obviously the cards have to fit in with the rest of the articles in the magazine that month, it wouldn't do to have three features all on the same subject. So when the commissions come in, I spend a couple of days just thinking about it, I carry a notebook around with me and jot down ideas as they surface. Then I get to work. Sometimes the ideas work out perfectly straight away, sometimes (quite often!) it just doesn't work in practice, so it's back to the drawing board. I am usually given at least a month before the deadline, but I put other stuff to one side and crack on with the commission, otherwise I lose sleep over it, and that will never do. So cards made, I write the text and supplies list, pack them up and mail. Done and dusted until the next lot of instructions arrive. I always enjoy a challenge......
See you tomorrow x

Beautiful job, En. I think we're fine over here with using a robin on Christmas cards! Especially when they are colored so beautifully!

Very pretty card...TFS!!!
Lovely card En. I often wonder what kind of forest critters and birds you have in the UK. We also have Chick-a-dees in the winter. Do you have them. I think they are the sweetest little things.
TFS Hugs, Jess
What a lovely image and your card looks fabulous! You sound so organised with your commissions - thinking of Easter now is scary! xx
Your card is so beautiful. Interesting about the robins in the US and in the UK being so different. I would have such a hard time working with deadlines. I spend hours staring at the wall trying to come up with an idea for a card. I don't know how you do it.
Love the coloring(I printed out your coloring tutorials and keep them handy). I love birds and didn't realize that cardinals are only here.
I love anything with birds on it. I collect all sorts of bird items. The colors on your stamped image is just beautiful.
Love your card! Cardinals are stunning here in the US in the winter..at least they are in our backyard!! We are semi bird watchers, and my husband told me (don't know if he made it up) that their feathers brighten up in the winter months. I'm thinking he's right from what I've observed the last year!! They just look so brilliantly outstanding especially against the snow covered trees! I'm going to send you a few of my amateur pictures taken of them outside my kitchen door!! Sorry for the extra long post!!
LOve the card...I love all your cards and coloring...thanks for the inspiration.
Oh what a beautiful image & gorgeous coloring! Another little note on the birds....UK robins are different than our Canadian robins (or US) Ours are bigger than your adorable little ones. I have had the pleasure of enjoying watching both!
Hugs, Renee
Beautiful colouring Enfys, and a lovely image.
Amazing colouring. Love the image. The fun thing about working at Easter cards may be that you forget about dreary UK weather for a while LOL.
