All about the glitter.....

Over at Daring Cardmakers this week, Shabneez set the challenge, and it's all about glitter. Do join in with the challenge, and hop over to see the lovely cards made by my team mates for inspiration

For my card, I added some double sided tape to the front of the card, then peeled away the top layer to sprinkle with glitter. I had some ultra fine glitters by Martha Stewart that were in a Halloween pack, but I think the colours look fun on this card. The butterfly was die cut using Stick it double sided papers, and treated in the same way, with glitter dumped on it when the top layer was peeled off revealing the sticky surface underneath

The shoe hunt continues - I must have tried on at least 50 pairs, and visited every shoe shop within a 20 mile radius of home. They are too high, too low, too plain, too fancy, the wrong colour or just very uncomfortable. Am I being too picky? Probably, but I am a woman on a mission. If I get very bored, I may lose interest and wear flip flops! I could always make some flowers in exactly the right colour to decorate them!........

  1. Loving the sparkly butterfly Enfys! I'd buy a plain white pair of shoes then alter them with all your craft stuff until you end up with a perfect pair! Xxx

  4. Oh what a fabulous card ... I'm all about the bling, so if a card sparkles, shines, twinkles, shimmers, or dazzles in any way, you've totally got my attention. Looks like I need to stop by the Daring Cardmakers to see what other glittery creations might be sparkling that direction. (*wink*)

Now that I think about it, I had the worst time ever trying to find shoes for my own wedding. Around here, you just can't find white shoes in November. What's with the no white after Labor Day Rule anyway (which is the first Monday in September in the States). Do you have any ridiculous fashion rules about wearing white in the UK? Anyway, although I could not find white shoes, I was able to find a pair of clear acrylic shoes with a 3 inch heel that were amazingly comfortable (something like a Cinderella Slipper). I then went to the local fabric store and found a white applique that had sequins, beads and pearls, and I attached it across the top of the shoe using a Velcro dot (to make it easy to remove). I got the idea from the old clip-ons we use to get to put on plain pumps to dress them up. The shoes ended up being a fabulous match to my dress, plus I was able to change the entire look of the shoe by changing the front attachment piece to compliment whatever I was wearing. Okay, so I am sure you do not want a pair of Cinderella-type slippers for your daughter's wedding. But that doesn't mean you couldn't do something similar to a plain pair of shoes in any color (white, ivory, pink, blue, green, etc.) to make them a wonderful match to whatever you will be wearing. Anyway, whatever you decide, I hope you find the perfect shoes for your daughter's wedding.

  7. Your card is great and glitters a lot. Personally I'm too scared of the mess to use these glitter "powders", but your result is great and I wouldn't have guessed that the glitter is from a Halloween pack ;-).

  8. Yay, double sided tape is the way to go with loose glitter - I'm convinced of it! Yours looks lovely. You may have hit on the show solution - buy a pair that's "too plain" and make bespoke decorations for them (you can get "shoe clips" so why not make your own?! - in fact, I just checked on eBay and blank ones are definitely a thing!)

  9. Oh, this is so very pretty!

As for shoes - why does it have to be so difficult to find something nice that actually fits without the agony of blisters?
