So I couldn't resist this little stamp set by Woodware at the NEC (although I had made a vow only to buy essentials - but this was essential, right?)
I started off embossing the holly tree in white, then sponged the background with distress inks. The berries were done with ruby liquid pearls.....by the way, I know American friends find the expression 'Happy Christmas' a bit odd, I think you always say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, but we do wish each other a Happy Christmas over here in the UK
Then because I have the attention span of a mosquito, I stamped again in Versamark ink and brushed on Perfect Pearls gold powder. This time I added a few gems and sequins.....
you get such a pretty sheen with the pearly powder....
Then one heat embossed with WOW platinum embossing powder.....
and finally, and possibly my favourite, heat embossed in white again, with a sponged background then I added 'snow' with a new product from Woodware that puffs up when it is heated. I have had stuff like this before but it always turns yellow on heating, this stays a nice bright white. I can't tell you the name, as the little bottle doesn't have a label and I threw the packaging away!
Which one do you like best? Now that I have experimented a bit, I can have a session making a batch of these, they were all quite quick to make. At least I now have four cards made, out of the total needed of about 80 that's pretty pathetic. I need to get them out early this year as well as I have new address labels to put on them. I can see a visit to Hallmark in my immediate future...........
What a lovely selection of cards! I'd say that the stamp set was an 'essential' buy. ;-) It's difficult to pick a favourite, but I think I like the second one with the gold tree best....... although the snow that puffs up on the last one looks intriguing. xx
ReplyDeleteLove this stamp set Enfy, caught my eyes! Such versatile creation using such beautiful stamp. My faves are the golden one and last one, love the bright white snow puffs!
ReplyDeleteEn....Got your email...will write soon.... I like the second one best although they are all lovely. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. XX
ReplyDeleteWow.....They all are very pretty!! Anyone of them would make a nice Christmas card. Would be hard to choose just one so I think I like the embossing powder ( love the shine) and the last one with the snow.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so pretty, but I kinda favor the perfect pearls!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Enfys - all of them are lovely.
ReplyDelete"Hallmark" indeed...go wash your mouth out LOL
I'm sure a bit of batch making will soon make a dent in your card requirements. A few embossed versions of this pretty tree and you'll have them done in no time.

Enfys, your cards are beautiful! I am partial to the platinum with the red berries and the silver and blue.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! I have 30 cards to make and I am half way through. Good luck with your goal of 80!!!
Oh My .... they are all beautiful, Enfys! What a lovely stamp that is. I believe my favorite is the one stamped with the platinum embossing powder with the red berries. But still, it's a hard choice as they are all fabulous. Once again, your cards are both creative and stunning. xxx
ReplyDeleteThey're all lovely but I'd have to pick #3 if you twisted my arm :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the stamp set is essential. Love your creations. Especially the golden powder one! You could make a bunch of these. Happy Christmas, my friend. Hugs, Jess
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I think my favorite would be the one with the Perfect Pearls gold powder, just beautiful, but then again they all are. TFS
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful cards especially the one with pearly effects.
ReplyDeleteWow! They're all pretty. I love them.
ReplyDeleteSnap! I've got that stamp set. I won it on Facebook in a little giveaway. It's lovely, isn't it? Interesting to see your take on it and more ideas for me to think about. Thank you for the inspiration. That "snow" from Woodware looks interesting too and I love that card.
