I just die cut the flowers and leaves out of white cardstock and sponged on some colour with distress inks. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp
We have our house on the market. What a performance! Firstly you have to rush around with paintbrushes and those cobweb duster things, getting it to look perfect before the estate agent (Realtor) comes around to value the place - after all you don't want him to knock thousands off the asking price because he noticed all the little flaws you have been living with quite happily for the past ten years. Then, before you have time to relax, you have to get the place looking perfect again so that they can come round and take photos. This involves buying a lot of fresh flowers and hurling stuff into cupboards.
Then we sit and wait............each time the phone rings, I jump thinking it is someone wanting to view, but no, it's just another call telling me that I am owed huge sums of money for some accident they seem to think I've had in the past ten years. 'Get off the phone' I scream 'my house is up for sale.......'
Then just as you think nobody will ever come, and you have relaxed enough for the place to get a bit messy again, and all the fresh flowers are dead, the phone rings and the agent asks if they can bring someone to view the house in two hours time.....
So an hour and fifty nine minutes later, red faced and exhausted from running around like a maniac cleaning and tidying (can you IMAGINE what I have to do to my craft space!), you have to leave your home and wander like a couple of refugees into the wilderness. 'What shall we do until we can go home again?' asks Mike plaintively.
Pub?
Great idea.
See you tomorrow x
I remember it well - I've lived in 5 different houses during my adult life. Hope you are able to sell it quickly and get on to your next big adventure..
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Enfys. The roses are so pretty. This makes a lovely sympathy card ... and it would also be great for a number of other occasions too.
ReplyDeleteIf you are selling your home, have you selected a new home to purchase yet? Perhaps something a little larger with ample craftroom space? Or will you be downsizing? Maybe moving to a new location? Pssssst ... I think the "Pub" idea was an excellent choice! *wink*
Very pretty card Enfys, love the die. Been there done that and hope to never have to do it again Enfys. Its so stressful keeping the house picture perfect, especially when there was still kids at home! I hope it gets sold soon and yes as Carol asked, where are you off to?
ReplyDeleteIt's no fun living in a goldfish bowl, so for your sake I hope you sell quickly. Have you found a new home?
ReplyDeleteLoved your card, I have to remember to start out with white card stock and color it as you always do. I never think to work that way, but it's such a great idea! Thank you for sharing and best of luck selling your home!
Oh, I sympathize, En. And of course the pub is the perfect place to recuperate and recover. Have one for me! Lol good luck with the sale. Where are you going from here?
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jess
Gorgeous card, the dies are fabulous! I hate selling a property too, your description of it is perfect and really made me laugh too! xxx
ReplyDeleteForgot to say'good luck!' xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I have forgotten all about the nightmare of selling. Pub sounds a great idea, I wish we had disappeared when trying to sell our flat,I wouldn't then have had to put up with some very rude people rubbishing our home as if we weren't there. Hope you get a buyer soon
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. Hope you get an offer soon. Hugz
ReplyDeleteYou really have a great sense of humour Enfys. I hope you soon get a buyer and that all goes smoothly. Great card, that's a really nice die cut flower. Pat x
ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful, I love roses ! Here's hoping your house sells quickly so you won't have to do your mad cleaning frenzy when the Realtor calls.
ReplyDeleteHaha, hope you manage to sell fairly quickly. I feel your pain! We were up for sale for about a year. Not a single viewer. (Not surprised it was an odd house) we went on holiday, our first ever family holiday, first day away we got the call for a viewing, then the call with an offer a few hours later! Xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Enfys. Eeek re the house move.....we have been in our house for 31 years and thankfully still have no plans to move. Good luck with the move and keep calm and carry on crafting x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Enfys.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with your house sale - I've decided I'm not moving again...it would take too long to 'de-craft' this place.
Toni xx
Your roses look great.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card Enfys. Love the roses and the lovely embossed background. Good luck with the house sale.

Your card is just lovely! I can't imagine getting ready to sell a house. I had huge amounts of precious crap in our garage when the water heater decided it was done and to leak all of it's 75 gallons of water. I should have just gone to the pub.
ReplyDeleteLovely card! oh are you moving back to the USA? lol just a thought
ReplyDeletehaha; I love your sense of humor.. hope you don't have to hang out in the pubs too much. Love the card..
