Video - Starry skies and liquid frisket

Here's a quick video for you on using Liquid Frisket. What? It's a rubber masking fluid used apparently by great artists - and me, you find it in the art supplies aisles of craft stores. It's acutally pretty handy stuff to have around, you can dip a brush in and write or draw on your card, then go mad with the watercolour paints and peel the frisket off to show the white underneath. Go HERE to watch it on YouTube

It does look as though there are a lot of shooting stars in this sky! MAKE A WISH!

Now I need to know, are you enjoying these videos? Any comments or criticisms welcome, let me know how I can improve, and what you would like to see.

See you tomorrow x

  1. Hi Enfys,

Loved the video, even tho the sound doesn't work on my computer!! I'm going to have to get some of that. I can think of all kinds of things to use it for. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I haven't watched this one yet, but I will tomorrow. I was just thinking earlier that I am really enjoying your videos! I am learning new techniques, andreacquainting myself with older ones. And I really like that you are speeding some of them up - I don't really like watching a 20 plus minute video, when I could read how to do it in just a few minutes.

  5. It's a great video Enfys, I love learniing new techniques. Could you have drawn a whole moon with it and peeled it off or does it need to just be used sparingly? The card is lovely thanks for sharing x

  6. Love it Enfys - a very good, easily understood, tutorial.

One thing that puzzles me though (as a fellow leftie) how come you don't put your ink pads to the left of your working area? You have to keep reaching over your work and your other hand/arm to the right to get the colour ;)

  7. I am really enjoying seeing the techniques on the videos. I've never heard of the Frisket before. I think your stars are really cool! Actually, it looks like 4th of July fireworks over New York. Thank you.

  8. Sensible question CraftyJo! One I often wonder about myself when I am halfway through filming...note to self, think before you ink!

  9. I really like the idea idea of making the stars in the sky look so real, but if it is costly, I do not think it is worth the money. I enjoy your videos very much and watch every time you have one on. TFS.

  12. I'm sure I'll love the video, you really do a great job. I haven't watched it yet because when I clicked on your link to You Tube my You Tube said I couldn't watch it because I had the safety settings on. Hmmm, a racy card video? :-)

  13. Thanks Lisa, I love Jennifer McGuire - one of my favourites and I urge you all to click on Lisa's link in the comments to watch her video, I use the glossy accent resist, and clear embossing. But never thought of using the proper stuff! Looks as though rubber cement works just as well too

  18. Great effect Enfys - a perfect card for wishing in the New Year.
Your videos are super. I love the speeding up of bits, that way you can still see what is going on without it taking too long - I don't often have a lot of time available so with your videos being a reasonable length I'm more likely to be able to watch them.

  21. I'm behind with everything just now but trying to catch up. Forgot to turn the sound on as I normally don't use sound on computers but there we go. Will try that again. LOL!

  22. Yes, it's much better with the sound on...slaps head.
I always manage to get ink on the back of the card, so that's a great little trick about masking it to save ruining the back. Thanks. I love starry skies and it's a lovely card. Never heard of this Frisket stuff before though.
