Here's the finished candi flower card. I used papers from the tiny prints set, also by Craftwork Cards (I love gingham). The sentiment stamps are bold and gorgeous - I cut mine, so that I now have effectively three sentiments - celebrate, in style, and celebrate in style.......I used an aniseed flexmarker to colour the leaves and little dots, and added just a few tiny gold beads
the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch....
Going back to gingham - I have no idea why I love it so much, and always did, even as a child. When I dabbled in dressmaking in my teens in a desperate effort to extend my wardrobe, I seem to remember pink ginham - I think I wanted to look like Doris Day. (Younger readers, go and google ). I have had gingham curtains, cushions.....but these days, I get my gingham fix from pretty papers. Don't even get me started on polka dots, I could bore for Britain on that subject. So spots, dots, stripes and checks are all firm favourites. What patterns do you return to time after time?
See you tomorrow x
So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on dots and gingham - perfection!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I've not commented before but I am now because I absolutely love gingham too! I don't know why either and I also started young! I see but I made my daughter a dress of pink gingham with a white pinafore. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Enfys. The stamp is gorgeous with all the card candi. Love gingham papers too. I am also a spots and stripes girl. I just find them so versatile to use.

ReplyDeleteYour candi card is gorgeous! I like dots - seem to use them lots! ooh that rhymes! xx
ReplyDeleteAw! That's prettier than what I'd imagined in yesterdays post.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! And who wouldn't want to look like Doris Day, even tho she was a bit before my time. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat you have here is what I loved as well, clean, crisp and yummy.
ReplyDeleteSince I was a child I was always interested in dots, checks and stripes. I still love them. I always have paper, material, etc. in this design. What makes us so fond of these patterns? I guess it is the "little girl" in me.

Oh yeah, I made two gingham dresses for my daughter and granddaughter, one in pink and one in blue with white ruffled aprons. They were full length and beautiful.

Smashing card Enfys. I love gingham with memories of sitting by my mothe as she sewed gingham clothes for me. Now I sew using a lot of it as well as dots. Love, Joan in Port St. Lucie
ReplyDeleteOh it turned out so cute. I love the gingham! Me? I love polka dots and I tend to go for stripes too.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE dots - big ones, small ones, any colour. Such a pretty card Enfys, that stamp is a must have. Pat x
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love the colors, and that gingham looks super cute!
