Here's one I made with Memory Box dies. I cut in white and coloured with Promarkers. I used a Martha Stewart round the page punch, then cut an aperture in that with a nestability. I popped an insert of the negative left from a scallop square cut into that.............
the flowers were distressed with a ball tool on a foam pad to shape them a bit after colouring...........
I have been applying new glue to my Cricut mats, it works so well, I can't believe I didn't do this ages ago. The mats I have bought lately seem to have very little staying power as far as stickiness goes, and once the paper starts sliding around, you may as well forget the whole idea. Look for this Zig glue. You wash your mats, some say you should remove all old adhesive, but I didn't do that, just gave them a good dunking to get rid of lint and stuff.
then you tape the sides of the mat with masking tape, and run the zig pen over the cutting area of the mat. Leave overnight to dry. It really works, I have been using a refurbished one for over a week now, and it's still as sticky as when I first tried it
Lookout for a giveaway post tomorrow, and if you have nothing better to do on a wet bank holiday weekend, get cracking, you have until the end of the month to make a card for this months challenge
Such a beautiful card Enfys and fab idea for the mats:-) TFS
ReplyDeleteno need to tape the edges, just stay in the lines! and you might find that just washing them, (the re-glued ones) that they will be sticky without re-gluing a few times.
ReplyDeletea real money saver!!!

Beautiful card Enfys! I wash mine with an old onion bag netting to get the paper off and then I lay them on the shrubs and use 3M Spray adhesive, literally 2 seconds and it's done!
ReplyDeleteWow, Enfys, your card looks so fantastic, very elegant.

ReplyDeleteHi Enfys, I love your card. I don't have time to write everyday because I started a new job and am very busy and a lot less time to craft :o( However I do take a few minutes a day and take a look at what's new with my favorite blog gal. Have a great day.

Thanks for this En. I have re-stuck my mats before, but I couldn't remember what glue to use.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I have some of this. I haven't used my Cricut in several months, so maybe I'll be able to make the things I've got planned and designed in my gypsy!
Thanks again my friend
Hugs, Jess
Pretty card and great mat tip!
ReplyDeleteMy kind of card En........it is beautiful..... great info on the cricut mat....I'll pass the it on.
ReplyDeleteWhat does a ball tool on a foam pad look like? Such a soft, delicate card. Beautiful. Marlene
ReplyDeleteOh Enfys that is just stunning I love those flowers and the way youve used the die cuts are just gorgeous. hugs Shirleyxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome card, I love the 3D box look. Your flowers and colours are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. And that is a great tip. I have tried it a long time a go. I use a spray adhesive now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Enfys. I re-glue my mats, too, using Quilter's Basting Adhesive (in a spray can). It also works really well. I also use a very fine misting bottle to give the gluey surface a mist of water before putting the protective clear cover back on when I'm done. This seems to help keep the glue activated.
ReplyDeleteStunning creation. Thanks for the re-glueing tip.

Love the cut out and the shape of the flowers really make your card. I have read about resticking my mats and I guess I am just going to have to try it. The newer mats just don't last as long as the older style dis.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning. I love the little flowers. I've been resticking my mats for years with the Zig two-way pen. I use the big fat one and have used the same mat for years. It really works!
ReplyDeleteEnfys, So pretty and delicate. Love the flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI re-sticky my mats with Aleen's Tack it Over and Over, works great too.
There is also a spray that my friend found at a discount store pretty cheap made by Elmer's it's a spray mount that stays tacky, sorry I don't have the exact name.
What a stunning card - so pretty.
