I was in Hobbycraft the other day, getting some supplies for a magazine commission, and I found this really pretty embossing folder, so of course it found it's way into my basket. I wanted a really quick card and this cried out to be an all white card, which I always love.......
the simple sentiment and scalloped card base is from Craftwork Cards, and I dotted a few pale pink pearls about to match the ribbon bow....
I punched some butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and attached them over the embossed butterflies.......
Well what on earth am I going to do when these Olympics are over? I may be able to get a job somewhere as a worldwide authority on obscure sports. I think I may be a better commentator than some of them - "oh", squeaked one last night, "I don't know what to say, I am lost for words"..............well excuse me dear, aren't you paid to talk? Then there was the guy, also last night, who, as the camera showed an aerial view of the stadium at dusk said "what a view, as you see dark is coming, well, it's getting a bit darkish anyway" Darkish! I rest my case
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the card...........I do so like butterflies............

This is gorgeous xx Jan
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Wish my white one white cards could look this elegant!
ReplyDeleteWhite "on" white, I meant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, classy card Enfys.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, there's only a two week gap and then we have the Paralympics (although I'm sure the media won't give the same level of coverage, which is a shame for those taking part) we have some pretty amazing sports folk for that too.
Toni xx
LOL you think the guy's been on the job too long? Darkish...really! lol
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Toni, it's a shame the paralympians won't get nearly the press. Said Press should be ashamed of themselves. These athletes have to overcome a whole lot more than the others do.
Ok putting soap box away!
I just love your white on white cards En! They are just fabulous. That embossing folder is gorgeous!I do love butterflies.
TFS Hugs, Jess
So gorgous and elegant xx
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a white on white card Enfys - gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you about the commentators, it started with the inane drivel that spewed forth from the commentators at the opening ceremony. I was always taught if you can't say anything nice or constructive.... keep your trap shut :)

Who makes that gorgeous embossing folder?
ReplyDeleteIt would of ended in my bag too! its totally stunning and l can see why you bought it your card and creations are always so beautiful and this one is just that, xx
ReplyDeleteOh how clever to use a punched butterfly on top of the embossed butterfly! I am going to scraplift this idea for sure, except I'll most likely use a die cut since I don't have a butterfly puncher - for now LOL! Thanks for the inspiration, En!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. Love the way you used the punched butterflies over the embossed butterflies.
ReplyDeletebeautiful card, love white on white, i doubt the paralyampics will get the same coverage, what will bbc do for its breakfast progamme.
ReplyDeleteI always love white on white and this card is no exception! It's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen as much of the Olympics as I would like, but have just loved what I have been watching. Sometimes you just have to ignore what they say.
I have been very impressed with the athletes who have been interviewed though.
This is really really pretty, love it.
ReplyDeleteKim xXx
This is the beautiful card with the nice color and perfect design. I have to design Plastic business cards, Will you give me some ideas for the best designing?
ReplyDeleteEnfys ... I love love love this card. What is it about a white on white that somehow seems to capture a look of gentle softness yet a rich elegance all at the same time? The little touch of pink works beautifully too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I thought I would share with you that it is rather "darkish" outside right now. Well, probably a more discript phrase would be "black as night" ... hmmm, since it's 2:00 am, that actually does work quite nicely. Does that mean I would make a nice sports commentator for the Olympics?
Hold that thought ... we can discuss it again in 4 years! *wink*
Hugz,
Carol
What a pretty card Enfys, I love all white. On the subject of commentators my fave was during the Federer v Murray match. "Federer has been forced into making unforced errors" Huh?? I think a compilation of commentator goofs would make good reading. Pat x
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous xx Jan
