Well, what did you think of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Me? Bursting with patriotic pride, I thought it was fantastic. It opened with an incredibly pure young voice singing that great British anthem Jerusalem. That was Humphrey, Kiki and Monty's cousin. Well done Humphrey, what a brave young man at the age of eleven, to sing like that in front of 80,000 people (and a billion more on television worldwide!)
Here are the four cousins together on an adventure day out to the zoo earlier this year. If I can get a clip of him singing from YouTube, I'll post it soon
and here is a quick card I made today, the rings were cut with the silhouette feature on George, the star and font is from Making the Grade
I found some music brads which were perfect
It will be mailed to him first thing tomorrow.
Wasn't the Queen a good sport? Mind you it just shows you are never too old to resist an offer from James Bond.......
How fabulous and he has such a beautiful voice - I had the sniffles at that point as it was my school hymn. Fab ceremony - the James Bond bit was great and I loved Mr Bean too
ReplyDeleteHow exciting. He was absolutely stunning. Congrats to Humphrey from me. Hugs, eileen

ReplyDeleteWell done Humphrey! I was amazed at his composure for such a yonug age - a beautiful voice. It was my school hymn when I was at Bicester Grammar school so it brought back a few memories! Have a lovely weekend. Pat x
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic, your family must be so incredibly proud, Humphrey has a beautiful voice and what an achievement! The photo of the cousins is fab as is the card, Humphrey will love it. The ceremony was so cool! xx
ReplyDeleteJust finished watching the replay of the Opening Ceremony here in the States. Wow! A wonderful job and very inspiring. Lots of amazing talent, but in my opinion your cousin Humphrey provided the most beautiful moment of the entire show. I've never heard a more flawless, more moving, or overall stunning rendition of Jerusalem. What a rare gift! Your family must be very proud. My congratulations to the young man. - RF
ReplyDeleteThe whole ceremony was fabulous! I loved the whole premise....the digital voyage on the Thames, the Tempest, the historical journey, the humor, the reverence...every bit. And Humphrey?? Astounding!! What a remarkable performance! That young man has an incredible presence and voice and must have ice water in his veins as he gave no indication at all that he had a clue there were a billion people hanging on every note!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular start to this wonderful event! You all should be beaming with pride!
Well done GB!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great card you have made for him. I'm sure he'll love it and will probably have enough pictures and cards etc for a whole scrapbook.
Congrats to Humphrey for doing such an amazing thing!
Omg Humphrey was awesome! What a voice on that kid! You guys must be very proud! I love your card, Enfys and I'm sure he'll love it too!
ReplyDeleteEveryone says the Queen has a great sense of humor. So I wasn't surprised at her being willing to go for it. LOL And they did a fab job at making it look like she jumped from the helicopter! lol I missed the very beginning of the Opening. DRAT! So I missed Humphrey. What a wonderful experience for him, and I know y'all are so proud of him. Well done indeed! I'll be looking for a video with his song. I loved the whole opening, and loved the way they lit the flame. Letting the flame take center stage instead of the carrier. Great Job to all the creators and actors and volunteers. TFS Hugs,Jess

The opening ceremony certainly lived up to the "Inspire a generation" motto - all those children who were involved couldn't be anything but.
