New Letraset Stamp Packs
Letraset have come up with another new idea, specially designed stamps that come in a pack with three yummy promarkers. They are large stamps, and full of detail which makes colouring them fun. I thought this little miss wearing her Easter bonnet was perfect for an Easter card for Kiki. I coloured her with very soft colours, and kept the whole card fresh and springlike
and a close up of her with her bonnet.......
When I was a little girl, my mother always bought both her girls a new outfit for church on Easter Sunday, I seem to remember it was always a summery type outfit, so whatever the weather, my sister and I shivered in pretty voile dresses, feeling very very proud of the way we looked. The reason for this burst of nostalgia is that one Easter, I didn't only have the dress, I had a hat as well. Cream straw with a cornflower blue velvet ribbon and tiny poppies and cornflowers on the brim. I had red shoes as well, I can remember the blisters they gave me to this day. Sigh....
We are off to Aberdovey this weekend for a relaxing break by the sea, it was a Christmas gift from one of our sons and we have been looking forward to it. Aberdovey is a tiny place on the Welsh coast, stuck in a fifties time warp, the whole place seems relaxed and far away from the hustle and bustle of 2012. My in-laws used to have a house there, so we spent a lot of time there when the children were small, so there will be nostalgic walks across the sand dunes where they used to play, and nostalgic visits to the pub where we used to play! So keep your fingers crossed for at least a bit of sunshine for us, I will take my camera and laptop and report back over the weekend

Great idea Letraset, and beautiful card Enfys. I remember black patent leather shoes, with straps across the tops. Said straps fit so tightly that the tops of my feel looked like loaves of bread, peeking over the pan. My dresses were always hand made.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend. Sounds like a great stroll down memory lane.
Hugs,Jess

ReplyDeleteI always got everything New at Easter also. I have a few pictures in Easter bonnets but of course back then they were all black and white!!
Hi Enfys, as I was reading your comment I was also nostalgic and felt all warm inside and then it happened... you AGAIN cracked me up with your bit about the where the kids would play and then the pub where you grown ups would play! You have such a gift of adding just the final funny little twist. Anyway, my birthday is close to Easter and I would alway get a new skipping rope and bollo bat and a little dress. Hope you have a great weekend relaxing. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBig hugs
Claire
Hi Enfys, So beautiful is your card and the colours used are so soft absolutely stunning finish, have a lovely time away what a lovely gift:)
ReplyDeleteLove the card, so soft and pretty! Enjoy your time in Aberdovey. Good memories are good for the soul, and any bad memories can be washed away at the pub :)
ReplyDeleteI use to get a bonnet too. You brought back good memories. Love the card and the kits are interesting concepts.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful rest and enjoy the sea.
She is a real little cutie Enfys.
ReplyDeleteI remember always having a new outfit at Easter to attend 'Sunday school' and it quite often involved a straw hat and sandals irrespective of the weather.
Toni xx
Oh Enfys,
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little card! I remember getting a new dress for Easter Sunday each year as well. It was our Sunday "Church" dress and that was what we wore to church all Spring and Summer. Hats were fun, too, and so glad they've come back.
Have a wonderful weekend, Enfys! How fun - going back to remember times when are children were wee ones. What a thoughtful gift for your son to give to his parents!
Blessings,
Donna
I love this idea from Letraset! Wonder if we'll be able to get them here in the U.S. Your card is beautiful - I'm sure Kiki will treasure it. A couple of days by the sea sounds heavenly. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos.

ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute stamp. So perfect for Easter too. Have fun at the beach!
ReplyDeleteCard is darling. One of these days, I'll either break down and buy some markers like yours, or win some.
ReplyDeleteHave a funtabulos weekend on the coast.
Hugs, CyndiU
love the cutie stamp, also the delicate colors you used. I to had a new bonnet, coat, black shiney shoes and a crocheted purse my mom did using a coffee can. Both me and my sister looked like twins and the outfits were sensational. We wore organza dresses smocked on the top front of our dresses and a big bow tied at the back. We had a diff. color dress for every Sunday going to church.
ReplyDeleteOh Enfys, I love love that little girl and her Easter hat. She reminds me so much of me. I had to have a new outfit, including white gloves, every Easter. My Mom liked to parade her four children into church and show us off. Have a relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Crafting Month!
ReplyDeletePretty Easter card, I'm sure Kiki will enjoy it!
Beautiful stamp and card Enfys! Have a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I bought some digital images way back in December and going to try my hands at coloring with my kids' color pencils before I invest in some markers.
ReplyDeleteYou brought back memories Enfys. I always as you said had a frilly summery dress, ne shoes, purse and as a small girl a bonnet and gloves. Darling card and this is such a great idea from letreset.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your card and your trip down memory lane was fun to read about. We were with family this past weekend and shared some of the easter outfits my mom used to make for us (3 girls + Mom in matching outfits). I am off to check oout the letraset stamp packs. What a great idea.
