WOYWW

The very first Going Buggy monthly challenge will start tomorrow, Thursday

Letraset are offering prizes to two winners so come and join in

I haven't joined in with WOYWW on Julia's blog for ages, if you haven't joined in with this, do have a go  it's great fun. WOYWW? It stands for what's on your workdesk Wednesday, and it's a chance to hop around all sorts of blogs and see photos of peoples workspace. This can be rewarding and frustrating at the same time. Rewarding in a smug sort of way because you realise that there are people out there who are even messier than you, frustrating because you see the most beautifuly organised spaces..... you will notice that my photos are pretty heavily cropped, that is so that nobody can see the utter chaos that is my desk

So, as usual there is a load of paper on there, I have been playing around with my Cricut, and cutting some borders and mats for stamping. I had the idea that I would make a great pile of them so that I would always have ready cut mats and borders to hand, but realised that I could spend the rest of my life cutting, and I still wouldn't have the right colours in the right shapes....

I found some pretty cuts though, see the grey one? It's a circle of butterflies, I have an idea for that one..... and I love some of the borders on the next photo. I was using Elegant Edges and the Circle Sophie cartridge for these cuts.  Mr Blogger is being particularly difficult today, and won't let me put the text where I want it, so you'll have to scroll down

Here's a very quick little card I made, using a Lili of the Valley image, I fancied a monochrome look, I find a lot of young parents aren't into the blue or pink thing, so I used grey - why not!

I am entering this into three challenges (another new year resolution, to get out there a bit more)

Allsorts: New Beginnings
The Pink Elephant: Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes

I am planning a kitchen makeover soon - not a new kitchen, just a makeover, new worktops, sink, hob etc etc. It's all at the planning stage, but look what I found in John Lewis sale, the perfect curtains for the french window - a cancelled order by someone who probably lives next door, as they are a perfect fit, and at half price I had to have them, although it is rather putting the cart before the horse.....I can see it all now, pale grey walls, lovely green plants,  splashes of yellow ......

See you tomorrow

  2. Happy New year to you. I hope 2012 is a full, busy, fun and creative time for you. Love the intricate cuts you've done. I know what you mean about putting the cart before the horse with the curtains; we bought a new lounge suite before the extension had even begun so was a bit squashy for a while!

  12. Aww, it’s good to see you again Enyfs!

What a lucky find those curtains were (love the colours) and how exciting to have a kitchen revamp.
Mine’s looking quite tied and could do with a coat of paint but it’s the washing down of the walls and ceiling that’s putting me off doing it.
Might just have to find a man who can, Lol!

Looks like you have a very busy desk for the beginning of a new crafting year and I look forward to seeing what you do with all those lovely frames that you’ve cut.

    Happy Crafting!
    And a Happy New Year.

  13. That is a lovely baby card, and suitable for anyone. My Silhouette lives on a shelf right next to me and when I want a mat or shape, all I have to do is pull it down stick the plugs in ans get busy. the I need to work out the right sizes for a given project. We bought the furniture for the conservatory before ordering the building so that was a bit tight too. xx Maggie #73

Love that flutterby mat!! That card is mighty cute too! As I have to make a Baby Girl card I might take the tip of grey card! Thanks!

  23. Lots of lovely cut outs there! I have a bunch of die-cuts filed but I rarely use them as they are not the right colour or size or I just plain forget to look before I cut more of the same, lol!
I love your new curtains! Hey, it's good to have a starting off point for your colours and it seems you have found yours!

  30. Wow Enfys, that's a LOT of cutting! Beautiful shapes, and they look even better en masse like that! Awesome.

I'm looking forward to getting to grips with Sheba, my new Black Cat Cougar cutter, but so far since Christmas, haven't really felt well enough to spend time in my ARTHaven, but I haven't been idle even though stuck on the settee - I've made a video today! It's on its way up to Youtube now, and should be on my blog tomorrow.

Happy WOYWW and happy New Year,

Re. the kitchen make over - we did similar just over a year ago and I got quite a few things such as new sinks and taps online - vastly cheaper than elsewhere and exactly the same thing! Good luck - at least you have the curtains to work to for colours :)) Di xx

  42. Oh you don't even want to think about looking at my workspace. I clean it up when I get frustrated with it and before I know it, it is a mess again. I don't know how I can overcome this and I'm not sure if I should really try. Those cuts you have on your desk are beautiful, I've heard a lot about that Elegant Edges cartridge, but haven't seen it in any of the stores around here.

The kitchen curtains look lovely, I love the color combo.

  43. Those curtains are a dream and a pefect match for most of the borders you have cut. I reckon curtains are as good a way to start planning a kitchen as anything.

  44. Hello Enfys, very nice to see you here again. Surprised you're still on that side of the pond though and not this side, lol! Love the new curtains, always good to keep an eye on the finished look, especially at a good price! Pretty die cuts too, but I never end up using things I've cut out or pre-coloured, always want something else! I said just the other night to Hubby that I could just as easily make fingerless gloves or wrist warmers from a sock pattern, perhaps I should give it a go!

    Hugs

  45. I love that baby card! I've not seen anything like that before. Well done on that bargain, those curtains are gorgeous!

  46. Is is ok to crop off most of your work space in a WOYWW? LOL I love the cuts. Those are to cartridges I don't have. I was playing with When it is cold outside and it has some amazing snow flakes. I was having trouble. They have a lot of detail and I would cut 3 and it would act like I needed to change the blade. Does that sound right to you? It is a pain because I want to cut a lot of them.
Your kitchen sounds very nice. I love the curtains. I had a blue gray kitchen once. It gave me depressing feeling. It had been a very very bright yellow before I painted it that blue gray. I may have just been me. You will have to show us when it is done.

  49. Aw Enfys, that card is sweet, and a lovely soft grey, so it's perfect. Am with you on the die cutting thing, I used to spend ages cutting alphas in various colours, soon learned my lesson! Like your circuit cuts though, some of those are incredibly detailed, lovely! And hey...I never crop my desk photos...be brave, girlfriend, we wanna see!!!

  54. I very much like the neutral colored baby card. And it is good for parents who aren't telling. I agree that it sounds like a good idea to punch and cut out a whole bunch in advance so they will be there when you need them. But truly, you are right you won't have the right color when the time comes. Or in my case, you won't know where you put them.

  58. Lovely lovely collection of things you cut with your cricut! I had a cricut but I have since gone to a silhouette. You asked me on my blog where my legs go under the table.. there is like a recess of space about 6 inches from the desktop to the storage units below. On the wooden table, that is a counter top height, so when I am working there, I stand :) Thanks for visiting my blog this week!
