The following is a list of the MAXIMUM size you can cut the card to get the matching envelope to fit using the Cricut Expression. Some of the cards can be cut bigger of course, but you will not get the envelope to fit. Of course, you can cut any of the cards at a smaller size and still get a matching envelope. Original Cricut (Baby Bug) users will be able to cut all the cards, but will not get a matching envelope unless the card is quite small. ALL THE CUTS WERE MADE WITH THE FIT TO PAGE OPTION

Two Cards Using Wild Card

I am bowled over with the new Cricut cartridge Wild Card. Before buying it, I couldn't really find out much information about it and had reservations that the cards were cut to a prescribed shape and that I wouldn't have much room to be creative. How wrong could I be, it's simply fabulous, all the cards come with their own perfectly fitting envelope.

Here are my first two, the baby carriage was cut first out of very pastel blue cardstock, then out of pattern paper. A lot of stitching, a brad, and the cute baby face from New Arrival, stamped with a Peachy Keen face stamp, and I was done.

The second one is the telephone card, which I cut out of a double sided cardstock and decorated with ribbon, prima flowers and gems.

Christmas Card of the Day

Here is another Wild Card - I cut the wave criss cross card at 5 1/4", I can see me using this cut a lot. I cut out of double sided card, so that when the left flap was crossed over, it was a different colour. The insert is the liner cut with the waves cut off and the little tree is from Joys of the Season, dotted with gems. I like cards to stand, this one doesn't, so I cut a 4" x 2" piece of matching cardstock, folded it in half and attached it to the bottom of the back of the card, it acts as a little stand, and the card will take it's place on any mantlepiece this Christmas.

Christmas Card of the Day

I am pleased with this one. I bought the Martha Stewart branch punch some time ago and have never used it, but this week a light went on and I thought of a Christmas wreath. So here it is. I cut a silhouette circle from George at 3" in green, then punched loads of little branches out of pattern paper that had bits of gold on it. I stuck them on the circle randomly with liquid glue and added gems and holly red stickles. I cut a 3" circle in cream from George, added a making memories 'NOEL' rub on, and stuck the wreath on that.

The papers, including the pretty scallop corners are Fa La La by Making Memories, bought from Target.

What's The Buzz? for Paptertake Weekly Challenge

The challenge on PTW this week was a sketch, drawn by my blogging mate Dawny, she is the sort of online friend we all need, always cheerful, always funny and always encouraging. So of course I had to join in with the sketch. The bees and sentiment are by stampendous, colouring with copic markers. The border is doodled, and the little drops are dew drops from Robins Nest.

Snowman Christmas Card

This is the snowman from Christmas Cheer cut at 4". He has a shocking pink scarf only because I had left over paper in that colour right there on my desk and I was feeling lazy. Hey, a snowman who is in touch with his feminine side, that's a good thing. I used the drippy goo Martha Stewart punch as I thought it looked a bit like melting snow. The sentiment is studio G (I do get my use out of those little dollar stamps) and the papers are Bo Bunny.

I have had a very unproductive time craftwise today, one of those 'stare blankly at the walls' sort of days. It doesn't help that my stuff was in such a mess, one of these days if I am brave enough I will post a picture of the post-tornado like conditions that I work in. I also have a pet cockroach, I have called him Albert. I have mentioned before that I work in the garage here in Florida (luckily we are not here for the really hot steamy months), and for a few nights now, this roach has appeared to my horror, and despite my best efforts he was too quick for me, darted under the desk and disappeared. Next night, same thing, then again..............by this time I had got over my horrors and resigned myself to having a crafty pal. 'Hi Albert' I said cheerily as he scuttled out to keep me company (aiming the spray at him as I spoke, darn it, missed again). Tonight I found him.......dead as a doornail. Am I bereft, no of course not, glad the darn thing has disappeared and won't keep popping out of my stamp drawer or somewhere when I least expect it. Just hope he hasn't left his girlfriend behind, so tomorrow a man with a spray is coming.

Autumn Card For Daring Cardmakers and CPS

The 'dare' over on Daring Cardmakers this week was to make an autumn card, and I used the sketch from the CPS site for my template for the card, so two challenges in one go.

The papers are by Scenic Route, the photo corners were cut from Jasmine at 3" (boy, those things cut small), the flower is cut from the paper and the sentiment is by Studio G. I made the dots around the sentiment nice and neat by using my canvas grid thing (they are the plastic grids sold in craft stores for needlework, they do circles and squares, and they are perfect for making your doodle lines nice and even, better still, they only cost a few cents).

Christmas Card of the Day

Here's my offering for today - the papers are SEI, the letters J and Y were cut from plantin schoolbook at 2", and the O is made up of a chipboard button from Cosmo Cricket, covered in paper and with gold ribbon threaded through it.

I have been having a lot of problems with my email subscriptions, for no reason some people have not been getting the emails. I would like to change, but don't know how to do it, and there are almost 300 of you who subscribe to the blog. When you get the email, right at the bottom is a line saying "you subscribed to Going Buggy". I would really appreciate it if you can click on the words Going Buggy in that line each time you get an email, it takes you straight to the blog, you needn't stay here, just click on your 'back' button. It should only take a couple of seconds each day, and it would help me greatly. Apparently this should solve the problems I've been having, well, we can give it a try and see. Thank you all so much, and whilst I am thanking you, I just want to say how much I appreciate the interest you all show in my work, it makes it fun having you around.

Get Well Card - Home Accents

So I caved in and bought the Home Accents solution cartridge, although I didn't see anything on there that grabbed me. I thought this flower head cut looked a bit like the dandelion seed heads, so cut it in white at 4" and a leaf at 2". Heavily glittered and with some gems, it's a really pretty cut. The sentiment is by Great Impressions.

Today's Christmas card - No Peeking

I found this tiny little penguin stamp by Stampin Up buried in one of my stamp drawers, sweet little image, I stamped in black then clear embossed so he is nice and glossy. The 'no peeking' is by Studio G. I decided to make the colours trad Christmas rather than the white/blue you associate with snow images, and added some snowflake buttons. I think it works okay.

Poppicrafts Challenge/Contest

There is a contest going on over on Poppicrafts at present - make a card using a combination of any or all of the following colours, black white pink or green. Plus, no images allowed. So this was right up my street, and armed with my trusty cricut and new Indie Art solutions cartridge, I came up with this.

I used a hot pink 2 sided Bo Bunny paper and lime green bazzill. I cut the strawberry at 5" out of the spotty side, then again in black on blackout. Lots of stitching, a couple of prima flowers and a sparkly black brad and the strawberry looked almost good enough to eat! The tiny sentiment 'yummy birthday' came from a sheet by Papermania UK and the border is double hole scallop by Martha Stewart.

My offering for today is another simple one, the stamp is by stamp n sparkle, the holly leaves were cut on blackout from Christmas Cheer at 4", then glazed with diamond glaze so they are really shiny - just like real holly leaves.

One Stamp - Two Ways

I found this little dollar stamp when I was at the crop in Orlando. Here it is, used two ways. The black and white version has a swiss dots background, and one of the pretty border cuttlebug folders, I added rhinestones to the centre of the flowers. The tree was simply stamped in black, and white liquid pearls added, then a doodled border to finish the panel. The dramatic black and white corner is from a pack by Making Memories. I can never get really good photographs of cuttlebug embossing, it falls into the same category as photgraphing glitter - almost impossible, at least with my skills.

I thought the same stamp could be used for Christmas, stamped in green and with dots of red liquid pearls as an accent. The simply gorgeous papers are from a pack by SEI.

Christmas Card of the Day

A simple little card today - getting a new one made every day is proving a bit of a challenge. The stamps are great impressions, I don't know if you can see, but the green card is stamped in green with a mistletoe stamp, nice and subtle. The wreath was coloured with copics and red liquid pearls. The sentiment is an old Stampin Up one.

Card Positioning Systems - Girlie Birthday

I am getting on with all these challenges this week, this is another sketch, for CPS. The dress stamp is by Stampendous, picked up for a bargain $1.50 in a closing down sale, the papers are the lovely taupes by Martha Stewart, and the sentiment is studio G. I used a fine line glue pen to outline the detail on the dress and then sprinkled with ice diamond glitter.

Which brings me to - I went to Sephora to stock up on some bare escentuals make up, found what I wanted and presented my card. The sales assistant (very young) said "I like your make up, what do you use?", well I was bare faced apart from my eyes and a bit of lippy, so felt a bit confused. She went on, chattily "when I use sparkle highlights it goes all over my face and I feel like a diva, but yours is really nice, just a little bit of sparkle on your nose and cheekbones" Ah Ha! The light went on............yes, the glitter fairy has been here again.

2 Sketches 4 You

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge on 2 sketches, you will see that I totally turned it around. I had the crafters curse whilst I was making this, kept losing bits, the bobbin on the machine ran out of black thread halfway through, and I tried a dozen different colourways before I was satisfied. It's funny isn't it how some cards come together straight away, and you just know that it's okay (not perfect, but okay), and other times you struggle to get it right. Anyway, here it is, warts and all, and I am happy with it at long last. The paper is by Bo Bunny, the butterfly is a quickutz die (thanks Chris for the spelling, I never can get that right, just know there is a z in there somewhere!) that I fell in love with at a crop and the owner kindly let me cut a stock of them.

Christmas Card for Tuesday - Buttons and Bows

Did you know there was a bauble tag on Joys of the Season? No, nor me until I spotted it a few days ago. It is a double tag, so cut out, the card has a front and back, joined at the side. I know, I know, I could do this on design studio, but I have yet to hook up my cricut to my computer. Too much like multi tasking for me. Anyway, cut at 5" it makes a perfect card which fits nicely into a 5" square envelope. I cut it out of some rather fabulous SEI paper that I found the other day, added some lace and some buttons and ribbon and it makes a sweet card with very little effort. The bauble hook was cut from gold mirri card, and I think it would look quite good hanging from the tree.

Acrylic Snowflakes

I bought one of the deep blade housings that provocraft have just bought out, thinking I could cut my own chipboard. Whilst looking for something else, I found two A5 sheets of acrylic, the weight that the Heidi Swapp ghost letters/shapes are made from. Could I? Dare I? I loaded the acrylic onto a brand new mat for max adhesion, set the blade to 6, speed med, pressure max, multicut 2. There they were, perfect acrylic snowflakes.

I painted the edges with a thin line of white acrylic paint (note: ink will never dry on acrylic) and sprinkled the wet paint with Great Impressions fine Ice glitter. This really defines the edges of your snowflake and makes them stand out against the white background.

The base card was cuttlebugged, and the sentiment (from Stampin Up) stamped in blue. I stuck the snowflakes on with a glue dot in the centre, and covered that with a blue gem.

This is really much nicer in real life, I tried every which way to get the best photo, but couldn't capture the ghostly delicacy of the snowflakes.

Thinking of You - for Basic Grey Challenge

This is my first card for the challenge site Basic Grey. The brief was to use stitching on a card, so right up my street. The papers are BG Infuse, and the sentiment is from a Studio G $ pack. The giant chipboard button is by Cosmo Cricket and the ribbon is Martha Stewart twill.

Monday's Christmas Card

Over on the Bitten By The Bug site, we were asked to design a card using the tree card feature from the Joys of the Season cartridge. I actually found this quite hard, it was difficult to put my own stamp on such a pre-cut design. I came up with this, cut at 5 1/2", and then the tree cut again in the burgundy paper. I used lots of krylon gold to doodle and add a gold border. The star was cut from JOTS again. I found some christmas fibres by making memories which I wound around the tree, and finished off with a dusky pink vellum behind the aperture, it looks as if there are marks on it, but it's just wispy bits of fibres. A ribbon bow and I was done.
