Baby Girl Card

Isn't this stamp the sweetest thing? I can't remember who makes it, I borrowed it at a crop. The papers are by Heidi Grace, I cut the trees out and popped them on for dimension. The letters are my favourite American Craft thickers, which I got from Big Lots for a bargain $2 a pack - they cost a LOT more in the UK

I stamped her twice, once onto the white card, then again onto the pattern paper and cut her clothes out of that
I get a lot of questions about what size my cards are. My favourite size seems to be a 6 x 6 square, although recently I have been making some 5 x 7 as well. I know that in the US you have to pay extra for postage on square cards, I think it's an extra 20 cents, we don't have the same restriction in the UK - yet. I daresay that somewhere in the Post Office corridors of power, someone will have a light bulb moment any day now, and say 'hey chaps, we can make lots of extra lolly if we charge extra for square envelopes' - it's bound to happen.
.They did recently bring in a depth restriction in the UK, so if you take a bulky envelope to the post office, they solemnly push it through a plastic letter box slot, and always look really disappointed when your envelope sails through.

  10. This is just gorgeous Enfys. So pretty and cute. I love Heidi Grace. These flowers ard trees are fantastic, they work so well. Don't even whisper about the PO altering the price of square envelopes, it's bound to happen sometime, although it looks like we won't be getting any post here shortly when they go on strike. The country seems to be coming to a grinding halt, we've had a bin strike here for the last 6 weeks, yes, it is getting a bit whiffy!!! Sorry rant over.
Hope the sun is still shining for you.

  15. cut card! As always lovely work! I've been told different prices by different postal employes! One said there was a .20 cent charge for all square envelopes. One said there was a .17 cent charge?
Is this why they call people running amok "going postal"? lol

  17. Very cute. Where do you get the 6x6 envelopes? I made a 6x6 card the other day and I had to put it in with a box of stuff that I had to mail because I couldn't find an envelope.
I have the same issue when I go to the post office here in Canada. They use the plastic thing and I always fit right through hehe

  19. Hi Enfys,

Stunning card, really cute. LOL I think your a wee bit harsh on us post office counters staff, we only get moaned at and harranged when thicker cards get charged £1.00 fee plus extra postage if you use the wrong letter rate. We are only trying to help (Honest). Keep up the good work..........

  20. I love the baby image and your papers are just right for this card. I like how you did the trees too.
I am very grateful that we have so many people mailing letters and cards still. It seems to be a dying thing.
