Thinking of You - recycled plastic
This weeks dare on http://daringcardmakers.blogger.com/ was to use recycled plastic. Well, that's what they said..........I saw the word 'recycled' and immediately an idea popped into my head and I dashed off to make it. When I was uploading it, I read the dare again more carefully, not a bit of plastic on my original creation. That just sums me up, the words bull and gate jump to mind.
Anyway, this is my second try - I used the plastic protector that covers the cricut mats. Cut half the front of the card away and attached this fabulous lacy mat by KI memories to it. Two more flowers on the front, and I was done - for the second time! The stamp is by stampin up.

Easter Card
Over on Papertake Weekly, the challenge this week was for a card with a spring theme. These Easter bunnies are by Great Impressions, I embossed them in black and coloured in with tombow markers. The paper is from my craft supply - haven't a clue who made it now, and the flowers are by prima. I love doing springlike cards at this time of year, it's such a change to use fresh colours after all the rich colours of winter and Christmas.
I entered my 'Feeling Ruff' card on a new challenge blog called CMUtd - Cardmakers United, and I've won some goodies! I'll let you know what I get.........

Feeling Ruff?
So I found another challenge over on cmutd - address in my favourites list. This time it is to make a card in three colours or less - hmmm, surprisingly difficult. This sad little pup was stamped in adirondack ginger and clear embossed, then coloured with prismacolour and gamsol. The scallops were cut with mini monograms, and the bone is an icon from Mickey and friends. I so love this little dog.
We are off to Yorkshire tomorrow for a few days, we lived there for a while many years ago, and have always kept in touch with our friends. I love it there, the village is so peaceful, - a million miles away from the busy urban sprawl of the town we live in now. We will probably go to York one day, which must be one of my favourite English cities, centuries old narrow streets and a Minster (cathedral) which must be one of the finest in the world. Anyone know of any great craft shops in that part of the world? I'll check on my friends computer in case any of you come up with something that's too good to miss. Thanks.

Whoo's Thinking of You?
Max Bedtime Story Layout
Let's Get Together
to suggest meeting up for a coffee and lunch - another New Year resolution, to try and keep up with friends more. I came up with this, the mug is cut from Joys of the Season at 3 1/2", the 'let's get together' stamp is a dollar bin find from the US and the paper I used was HOTP. I thought the tiny flowers looked just like a china mug, so I put loads of diamond glaze over it, and I am quite pleased with the way it looks, just like the real thing! The only trouble is, it's so shiny it was difficult to photograph. All the cardstock is Bazzill.

Daisy Mouse - It's your Day
Phew! I've been without a computer for almost a week, and it's frightening how lost I have felt without it.Incredible that an inanimate object can become so much a part of your daily life - I probably need to get out more! Anyway, this weeks Daring Cardmaker challenge was to use a sketch, (which I have been unable to upload onto here, take a look at the site, fantastic cards on here - daringcardmakers.blogspot.com)This is my take on the challenge. Papers are by deja vu, sentiment stamp is by studio g, and the little mouseis daisy mouse by funstamps.

Lilac Hedgehog card
This happy card is perfect for today, after days of grey and rain, today is just beautiful, cold of course, but clear blue skies and sunshine. I have loads of stuff to do, I need to come up with a 90th birthday card before tomorrow morning among other things, but I am just going to let it all go for a couple of hours and go for a walk. I am a bit sick of hearts and red stuff now - who is this St Valentine, and why does he make us all buy cards?! I noticed when I was in the stores yesterday that the great red roses rip-off had started. It seems that if anything is red and has a heart on it, the price mysteriously trebles for a few days in February.

If I Only Had Wings Card
The challenge was to use flowers on a card. I stamped
a hero arts stamp in brilliance ink - cosmic copper - for a
background, then cut a butterfly at 3 1/2" from Walk in My Garden, in dark brown, stamped that all over in cosmic copper as well. I had a huge Heidi Swapp paper flower that I've never known what to do with, so I cut off two of the petals and turned them into butterfly wings. The saying is by Great Impressions. Added some primas to the stamped background.

BBTB Shape 'Love' Card
The designer challenge
over on the BBTB site
this week was to make
a shaped card, using the
New Arrival cartridge.
I chose the heart cut
simply because it has
that handy little hook
thing at the top, which was perfect for holding the two halves of the card together.
The papers are from DCWV all dressed up stack - love this
paper, the flowers were cut from another sheet, and the stamp is a $1 find. Doodling done with a black sakura
gelly roll pen.

Wedding Card
Not much crafting this weekend either, as my little 8 month old grandson has been here to stay, he was so good, it was the first night he had ever spent away from his mummy, and I had no trouble at all.
Last week I had a call from a customer wanting some wedding cards urgently, and would you believe that out of my dozens (hundreds??) of stamps, I don't have any wedding specific ones. Not a champagne glass or cute bride and groom to be seen, so I turned to my trusty cricut and designed a few.
This one is a take on an explosion box I did for a DT challenge over on Regina's site, cut the & in cardstock at 4" from george, then again in red rose paper from HOTP. The 'mr' and 'mrs' are heidi rub ons from MM. The hearts were in my craft supplies.

Red and White Love Card
All these Valentine cards - luckily I have a customer for them, otherwise my dear unromantic husband would be quite overwhelmed on February 14th! He would have to make an early morning dash to the garage to get a card or two, otherwise there would be a serious lack of brownie points.
Valentines Card
This is a card I did for a challengy over on Bety's blog - check it out, her work is fantastic. Her address is in my list of favourite sites to visit - Beatriz Jennings. She asked for a card with EVERYTHING on it, buttons, ribbon, bling, chipboard, flowers and a heart. I have left my huge stash of primas in the USA, otherwise the flowers would have been black I think.
Bear with Basket Card
It was such a miserable day yesterday here in the UK - howling wind, lashing rain and grey, grey, grey. So I felt like cheering myself up and making something springlike and happy. This is what I came up with. The little bear was made with a circle from George, cut at 2". His ears and paws are small punched circles. The eyes are black adhesive dots, I should put a dot of white on them but I can't find my white pen in the chaos that is my workspace. I cut the basket from Joys of the Season - 2 french hens cut, and filled it with primas. The little tag is a studio g clear stamp. I must say my little bear looks sweet, but sad, does anyone know how you can give them a happy face? All the paper is basic grey.
