Christmas Word Books - Brand New Funky Hand

Here's two christmas word books made with brand new downloads from Funky Hand
This first one is one with "Blue Christmas" - you just print out the letters you want, and cut around the pages using your paper trimmer. I used my Bind it All, the little trees are cut from one of the papers, and the hat is from the Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge

I used swiss dots to give some added texture, and dabbed a zig glue pen on the spots, then sprinkled with glamour dust
The second one is done with the "Tis the Season" download - fabulous traditional Christmas papers here.
I used Christmas Cheer again to cut out the Ho Ho Ho

and added a few jewels for a bit of bling
I always print the back of the page in a co-ordinating print as well, to make double sided paper

It couldn't be easier to use these, order, and they are sent right to your computer ready for you to download and make little books saying whatever you want to say - there are some great examples on the Funky Hand site, hop over and take a look. The amazing thing is that we were all given a free rein as to what we produced, and we all came up with different words. I've had a couple of emails asking me what the price is in USD. It converts to $8.33 per download

New Funky Hand Download - Wedding Books

Anice has done it again! Her new download is for wedding word books, and is full of the most gorgeous papers in yummy shades of taupes and creams, very neutral so that you can add the wedding colours to it. I made this book just using the initials of the bride and groom and the ampersand sign. I printed my letters out, then put the card back in to print on the other side, so that the pages are double sided and coordinating. The download comes complete with a page of gorgeous sentiments to print out too, which can be used on cards as well. The download costs just under £5 ($8 USD, 5.75 euros) so is a bargain buy. This whole book was so easy and quick to do, it took me about an hour.
I added the butterfly which I used when I designed Phil and Lucy's invitations (QK die), and dotted lots of pale pink pearls around. The book, even though it only has 3 pages will hold quite a number of their favourite wedding snaps, I know they will love it.
Go to the Funky Hand site to see other examples, the DT have made some beauties. Other ideas for the books are Mr & Mrs, Joined, Love......loads of ideas over there.

Funky Hand Word Books and stuff.............

This card was made with the papers from the new Funky Word Book CD from Funky Hand. It was a sell out when it was first shown on Create and Craft TV a couple of weeks ago, and now here is your chance again, Anice will be live on Create and Craft TV on tuesday 19th May at 12 noon, with this fab CD, and the whisper has it that they are selling the Bind-it-all machine on the same show. those of you in the USA or Canada, can order the CD direct from Funky Hand and you get free shipping to anywhere in the world.
This is quite a big card - 5" x 7", when they are shown on TV I have learnt to my cost that little cards just don't have an impact, and the bigger, bolder designs work best.

Here is my word book - I had to get these done in a hurry, as there was a deadline for the first TV show, the CD had to arrive from the UK, then the finished products had to be parcelled up and sent back to the UK. I decided to print out the words OH NO! 50! for my book. It was before I got my bind it all, so I used keyring chains to hold it all together (can't wait to make another one now that I have all the fancy binding thingies). The book is to a fictional chap called Tony, so called simply because I had all these left over letter epoxy stickers in exactly the right shade of blue, and the only name I could make was Tony - I could have called him xyont but didn't think that would look great - or I could have used the sensible option and printed out a totally coordinating alphabet from the Funky Hand CD - what was I thinking?
On the subject of Funky Hand, we are all excited that Dolly is joining our team, welcome Vicky (aka Dolly). Go and have a peek at her blog and you will see why Anice felt she would fit right in. There were many fabulous entries though, so hugs to all of you who didn't make it this time.

Take a peek at my sidebar, notice a new logo on there? I am chuffed with this one - click to find out what Polka Doodles is all about.......................................

Funky Daze Word Book

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANICE

Anice, the very talented owner of Funky Hand is 40 today, she is the sweetest person and I am so happy to be on her design team. She has just released her new CD, called Funky Daze, with a fabulous range of printable papers, alphabets and, wow, wow, wow, the ability to print your own word book. I was really excited to get my demo CD and couldn't wait to see how it worked out. I printed out the word PLAY on a stiff white cardstock (the sort you get in a great big pack from the office supply aisle in Walmart), then printed out some coordinating papers, again on cardstock and backed the letters with those. With the two layers of card, it made a really substantial little book. I don't have a bind-it-all, so used key rings to hold it all together, then tied ribbons to them. The photos are all of Kiki playing in the park and with her doll. This word book has been sent to Anice as she will be showcasing her new line on Ideal World Create and Craft TV in the UK. The CD can be seen HERE - shipping is free to anywhere in the world.
Regular bloggy friends will remember the saga of the black pig which was snuffling around outside one dark night a few weeks ago? Suggestions were gently made that I was demented/drunk/mistaking an armadillo for a pig and so on, and on.................nobody really believed me. Well, I am totally vindicated. Guess what was spotted on US19 this week (a really busy highway about a mile away from our house) - not one, but TWO black pigs snuffling around on the verge. One of them was definitely mine I've decided, but if it hangs around US19 for any length of time it will be going to a piggy graveyard, there are some crazy drivers on that road.

Love Book for This Thursday

This week I was asked to be the guest designer on This Thursday a new challenge blog. They sent me all sorts of goodies from their sponsor the stamp man - gorgeous moonglow washes, gold leaf, fusible fibres. This is what I came up with. The LOVE book is by SEI and was sent to me by my message board friend Sheri. I painted it with the washes, which are a gorgeous coppery glow in real life, stamped around with some heart stamps by Technique Tuesday, cut some hearts with the cricut - george cartridge, and ran them through the cuttlebug script folder then rubbed them with gold leaf. Added some fusible fibres embossed with copper (they were fun to use, you just tear pieces off, place them where you want and heat with a heat gun, it goes all lacy, and then you sprinkle with embossing powder, it's a neat effect) and finally embossed a square of chipboard with ultra thick embossing powder and copper, then pressed one of the heart stamps into it to make the embellishment. A few ribbons and I was set to go. The products were fabulous to use and although this is a departure from my usual stuff, I so enjoyed using them and am really pleased with the result. Thank you Tracey for inviting me to guest design for you.
