Tags and Butterflies

So what else have I been up to for Fiskars? Well I made some tags with the Tag Maker Punch (fabulous gadget by the way)

I glued one to a coffee stirrer and used it to dress up a little plant gift for a friend....

I stuck some plumbers tape to white cardstock.....

and punched out some butterflies, which I dabbed with alcohol inks,

and added some florists wire for anntennae - they look really shiny and pretty, so they will make their way onto a project soon

But here at home it's been a non stop washing and ironing session - I always make the same mistake, I take far too many clothes with me, don't wear half of them on holiday, but when I bring them home they look so scruffy after being in and out of a suitcase two or three times, they have to be washed and pressed even though I didn't have them on my back once. I do make work for myself.... and my new year resolution to do a daily planner has fallen by the wayside. I did find it (in March!) but it just sits on my desk empty and unloved. In the meantime, I carry on scribbling lists on little scraps of paper that I keep losing. Will I ever learn? Probably not, old dog, new tricks......

See you tomorrow x

  5. Cute little tags ... do they have anything that makes them in larger sizes? I love those fabulous butterflies. They are so shinny and with those beautiful swirly colors, they are going to dazzle whatever project they are on.

You're not alone Enfys, I never was one to pack for a trip properly either. I always take way too much, and yet somehow, I always seem to forget the one item I want most. I would say that it is a "girl" thing, since my husband always has exactly the perfect amount of clothing, shoes, undies, toiletries, etc. ... except that I also do his packing. Go figure ... it must just be a "ME" thing.

  6. I pack too much, too! I like to be prepared for everything, (that's my story, anyway) and I need choices. What if something gets stained and I can't use it, etc., etc. Anyway, that's the way we are, I guess! LOL Tags and butterflies are lovely.

  7. I love your tags and love the unique ways in which each was made. My favorite is the technique for the butterflies, they look amazing! I always pack way to much as well and do the same thing when I get home ... like you said, old dog/new tricks! LOL! Have a wonderful day!

  8. Better to take something you MAY need and then not use it rather than NOT take something that you DO need! That's my motto when I'm packing for holidays. We're off on Saturday so no doubt I too will take far too much!! Pat x

  9. I make lists too. But I usually don't lose them. Mostly because I get such a kick out of crossing items off of them! Many years ago, when planners first came about, I got one, had great fun setting it up. But I only used the calendar. So, because it was so expensive, I have carried it all over the countryside with me. I hate to throw it away, so maybe I'll put it in my goodwill box. Have a great day... oh I like the butterflies. Hugs, Jess

Cute tags, I love the butterflies, wish I had some alcohol inks to try out your technique. I always feel like I don't pack the right clothing. Oh well...

  13. What a great idea, love the plumber butterflies. I know that washing feeling lol. Unfortunately (or not) my washing machine is broke and I am patiently waiting on my little fixer man. Keep the inspiration coming Enfys.

  14. The plumber's tape idea works like a charm - thanks for reminding me since I haven't done it in a long time. LOVE this post and agree totally with the clothes thing - I do the same thing!
