Graphic....and a winner

Using graphic stamps today - to tell you the truth, I was quite unclear about what a graphic stamp was exactly, I had to look it up - 'the visual arts based on line and tone rather than three dimensional work or the use of colour'. But watching the talented designers on  Stretch Your Stamps it was obvious that in the craft world it means those geometric or bold shaped stamps - bold outlines of squares, triangles etc. Yes, the sort of stamps that I used to own by the dozen until I got rid of them thinking I would never ever, ever use them.....

So I hunted around and found this little stripey stamp that had never been inked, and some graphic type sentiments. I thought it would make a good card for my daughter's boyfriend Declan, who has his 30th birthday today - happy birthday Dec!

I stamped the sentiment in black onyx versafine ink, and then clear embossed, I rather like the grungy look of it with all those little dots scattered about. I don't use ribbon on men's cards, but thought I could get away with a little twirl of black twine....

I then turned to these bold flower blooms by Woodware - these are new stamps, I thought they could look striking but had no idea when I bought them that they could be classed as graphic. You live and learn!

I'm a bit obsessed with this hello diecut from Silhouette at the moment. Sentiment dies are so popular, and so expensive, I feel a bit triumphant that I have found something that looks like an expensive die, but is just cut with my machine. I need to get a few more words though, I can't keep saying 'hello' to everyone I send cards to....

I cut the word three times, stuck them together, then embossed them in white, it looks like chipboard, rather nice...

On to the winner of the brand new limited edition colours from Letraset. The randomly drawn winner is......

  4. Love your CAS flower card, Enfys, and the way you created a pattern with your graphic stamp. Since this class is all about stretching your stamps, have you considered stamping with the backside of that same stamp? I posted my first card last night, YAY! Like you, I've created a hello card, since I don't have many sentiment dies LOL.
Congrats to the winner. Enjoy your prize!
