Babysitting.......and a winner

So here is what I have been up to today, the boys were at school, but when they got home, I got out my 'travelling set' of Promarkers and let them loose. Six year old Max was very impressive, carefully 'keeping inside the lines'. Four year old Milo of course, just wanted to use every colour in the box. Here he is on the phone to Mummy - 'I am very busy mummy, doing colouring with Ma's markers and I got to be very careful cos they are spensive......'

Here is a new job card I made for this month's Papercraft Inspirations magazine, just going on sale now in the USA - the new magazine will be out next week here in the UK, with some more of my cards in it. I loved doing this one, when I was planning the set, the saying 'big cheese' popped into my head and I just couldn't get rid of it! I had huge problems drawing the 'big cheese', I just couldn't get the angles right at all, but in the end it looked realistic enough for me to make the card and send in my hand drawn wedge to be used as a template for the readers......

the sentiment was printed onto a strip of Safmat (by Letraset), you can hardly see the join!

On to the winner of the Craftwork Cards Jacob pad and paper bows, thanks to everyone who left a comment. The name that random.org picked out of the hat was:

WINZER CASTLE

.......who was the first to comment. It always amazes me when that happens, although statistically each number has an even chance of course. Anyway, congrats, email me and I will get your prize in the mail

Tonight is Chinese New Year, so happy new year to any of you who hail, or originate from that part of the world (yes, I have blog visitors from China and Hong Kong!). I am going to celebrate by making some masks with the children and having a Chinese takeaway which they will love, they can stay up a bit later and hopefully I will get a bit more sleep on Saturday morning, although that is probably wishful thinking. Never mind, I cherish the moment, I can sleep when I get home...

Enjoy the start of the weekend....

And you are very brave letting the young ones loose with your Promarkers! I get nervous enough when my 14-year-old artist daughter uses mine! x

  7. Hi Enfys
The trick with Safmat is not to cut it into strips or straight lines. If you cut close to the wording with a wavy line, adhere the Safmat sentiment to the card, then buff it with a cotton wool ball it will disappear into the background paper and you wont see a join at all! Safmat is better used on patterned paper or untextured cardstock. If you use it on say Bazzill it will show up no matter how you cut it

  8. Wonderful card. What fun to color with your grandsons. My grandchildren really love to use my ProMarkers, too, but I only allow that to happen once in a great while. They would use them all up in a trice if I let them color as much as they wanted to. :)

  9. Your card is really cute but not quite as cute as those grandsons. Maybe I'll even win this time. HeeHee. Kate

  10. The boys are growing so fast! Our Mason is 2 now, and is really tall. He's going to be a big boy! American football player size! I'll bet the boys loved the creations with the markers. I know you love the time with the kids. I've got to go find the mag! Big hugs, Jess
